This week on Talk World Radio: Peace in the Streets. Our guest Robert Gray is Co-Founder of Uhuru, an organization based where I am, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Gray is a visionary, businessman, brand strategist, and social entrepreneur with a passion for education reform and economic empowerment. He’s done a wide range of organizing work, and in 2019 received a Proclamation from Charlottesville City Council for his work in the community. He has over 10 years of experience working with high-risk youth and two years of experience applying the nationally recognized, evidence-based Check and Connect program within a targeted community of youth and their families in the City of Charlottesville, ensuring students were attending, engaging with, and investing in their education. Uhuru’s Peace in the Streets program has recently received support from the City of Charlottesville.
