Investigation: Drug Users Ushered Into Military Service
HOUSTON -- Note: The following story is a verbatim transcript of an Investigators story that aired on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, on KPRC Local 2 at 10 p.m.
Tonight, Local 2 investigates a new danger for U.S. troops in Iraqi war zones. Our hidden cameras uncover how drug users and even addicts are being ushered into military service as tens of thousands of new troops are being sent to Iraq.
On January 27, 2007, 500,000 marched against war and occupation in Washington, DC. After this mass demonstration against the war, Kelly Dougherty, co-founder and Executive Director of Iraq Veterans Against War, and Anthony Arnove, author of Iraq: the Logic of Withdrawal spoke at the Bus Boys and Poets cafe. Their talks followed an incredible performance of songs by activist/hip hop artist Son of Nun.
In this audio clip, Central Florida Veterans For Peace's Phil Restino defends 500,000 Marcher Count, Hollywood Participation, Calls for Impeachment, and more on Tuesday, Jan 30th "The Guy James Show" on the Head On Radio Network. Agrees with Jane Fonda's message of "Silence is no longer an option".

We are backing up the ad with a two-day, seven-city tour, that will take this battle right into the Senators’ back yards...

Warning: This video may be disturbing to some viewers
The video to the right, which contains a disturbing message from a man who claims to have been a guard at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, was removed from Youtube recently for violating the terms of agreement. It's easy to see why.
According to IraqSlogger, an investigation into the validity of the obscured man's claims of torture, rape and abuse has begun. Though the Army's investigative affairs division isn't providing details they do say they're taking it "seriously," according to Christina Davidson's report, which goes on to point out that there have been a number of false claims of both soldier and insurgent atrocities.
