July 23rd: Downing Street Minutes 3rd Anniversary Events
Several Congress Members have agreed to host events in their home districts on July 23rd, the third anniversary of the famous meeting on Downing Street. On that day, all over the country, there will be town hall meetings, dramatic readings of the Downing Street Minutes, study circles, and house parties. Participants around the country will be able to call into a conference call with Congressman John Conyers and other featured speakers.
If you haven't signed up yet, please do so now.
Our online events system allows you to post an event and have others sign up to attend it. If you'd like to organize an event in your city or town on July 23rd, now is the time to post something on the website at
If you're tentatively planning something, or you haven't identified a location, or you're not sure if a speaker you've invited can make it, or you can't decide on the time to start, DON'T WORRY.
Post the event, and then add the details as you get them.
Right now there are people from your neighborhood looking for an event to attend and not finding one. Once you've posted an event, they can start signing up. You can Email them and ask them to help out. They can Email you and propose ideas. Together, you can work out an ideal event. And we can go ahead and announce your event as part of a nationwide campaign.
But none of this can be set in motion until you post an event. Here's how:
Click on "SIGN UP TO HOST OR ATTEND"
Type in your Zip Code.
Click on "Sign Up to Host an Event."
Fill information in each box, but in some cases the information can be "To Be Announced."
