I have received information, heresay, but I would regard it as moderately reliable, that there is a major housing construction effort going on at the Guantanamo Bay naval base to accommodate 100,000 people, in anticipation of a military "humanitarian intervention" to begin on the day that Fidel Castro dies.
I can find nothing on the Web about this. Does anyone have any corroborating evidence, or any way to dig into this further?

Added:
The Guantanamo Bay base is 45 square miles, which is not tiny, but much of it is water, marshes or meadows, and easily observable (at a distance) from the base's main building clusters. The hilly part, where something like this might be hidden, is also where most of the existing roads and structures are located. If you know anyone who is or was recently stationed at Guantanamo, and if a construction project on this scale were under way, they would very likely have seen evidence of it. If they've seen nothing, that would actually be pretty good evidence that this is not in fact taking place.
(BTW I was given to understand that this information is not classified, not legally a secret.)
