Ann Arbor Council calls for end to Iraq war
Saying the Iraq war had become a disaster for both countries, the Ann Arbor City Council passed a resolution calling for the end of combat operations and the withdrawal of U.S. troops.
The resolution passed by a 10-1 vote at the Monday night meeting.
Council Member Marcia Higgins, D-4th Ward, cast the lone vote against the resolution. Higgins said she agreed with everything in the resolution, but she didn’t think the council should pass a resolution that represents the entire city when she knows there are people in her ward who disagreed with it.
