The Impeachment of George W. Bush

By ELIZABETH HOLTZMAN, The Nation
[from the January 30, 2006 issue]

Finally, it has started. People have begun to speak of impeaching President George W. Bush--not in hushed whispers but openly, in newspapers, on the Internet, in ordinary conversations and even in Congress. As a former member of Congress who sat on the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment proceedings against President Richard Nixon, I believe they are right to do so. READ MORE.

We use to decry the Soviet system of a government spying on its people. Now we have one. It is time to end the reign of King George. We need another revolution, at the polls, to overthrow King George and the aristocracy he serves.

Bravo, Elizabeth Holtzman. Truth to Power until Truth overcomes. And overcome this Administration it will. 2006 is the Year!

It's imparitive to support Dems this year. The 2006 Mid Term elections are perhaps the most important the country will ever hold. If Bush is not kicked out of his office soon, America is likely doomed to live under Tyranny. History is in the process of repeating. What is happening in the Whitehouse now happened in Ancient Greece Ancient Rome, Natzi Germany and other great nations. Plato wrote that after 'Democracy comes Tyranny'. It was the Olygarchs aka the Republicans who destroyed Democracy in 402 BCE Athens (respectively). Point made.

I could never support any organization that has a leader like the murdering pig Kennedy. It is unbelievable that he is even allowed to question a man of Alito's integrity knowing the "baggage" he is carrying.

wake up G. Klein, this is the U.S.A. in the year 2006 . not 1933 in some other place

Sir, I suggest that the Senior Senator from Massachusetts, as a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee has a right and a responsibility to question the nominee on bahalf of all Americans and especially the people of Massachusetts who elected him to the Senate. Senator Kennedy's history has been scrutinized by his constituents for many years and he has been returned to his seat in the Senate on numerous occasions. Unless you are a Massachusetts voter, in which case you can express your dislike for Kennedy every 6th year his term is up for re-election, your tirade is meanningless.

As for you characterization of Alito as "a man if integrity", please provide some background for your conclusion. As a lawyer, I find his writings and opinions very pro-business and pro-wealth. He displays very little compassion nor a sense of equal justice for ALL.

We should all want to know from Alito just how he views the separation of powers. WE should be demanding that all public officials from all 3 branches of the federal government express to the American people how the separation of powers embodied in the Constitution should be manifested in the day to day operations of the government. Instead, the executive branch is left unfettered by the legislative branch and its lax oversight, to run amok in secrecy. Alito appears to find that his role on the Court is to facilitate and enable the executive in such conduct. Not my idea of separation of powers.

One phrase of caution, be careful what you wish for!

We'll never know how many people W killed in his early reckless days before he was "saved" for that has been swept under the rug. I don't know if anyone will be able to add the deaths he has caused since. Iwouldn't be one to defend kennedy, but I can only have piity for someone who would honestly believe in W or his policies.

kennedy made a mistake that involve one woman
alito has made many mistakes involving millions,
his only goal is for himself not america

As much as I hate to think we have a president who has completely lost sight of administering the government as it should be done by the laws and Constitution, I think it is time to start an investigation into the impeachment of Bush. Regardless of what the Republican party says, we are in serious trouble with the economy, jobs, education benefits, veterans budget, etc. and the deficit is so large there is no way to bring it down in this generation. It will be up to the children and our grandchildren to bring our country back to Black, not Red. We need an administration that considers the working class or middle class, the low income, and the homeless of the country...not the rich or the big corporations and big business. We need politicans that are honest, have morals and values for the good of the country, not theirs, and who are not tied to promises that are not and would not be fulfilled if they were not tied by the money that was given them or to be truthful, the bribes. We have too many greedy and money hungry politicans that needs to be dropped from the political scene. We need an administration that will consider the people (all of them regardless of race, creed, or political associations.) Whether Republican or Democrat, we are all American and the Constitution says a government FOR the PEOPLE and BY the PEOPLE, which is not being followed now. It is only the rich and Republicans that are getting the benefits. What Bush is doing to the country is a lot worse than the reason that Clinton was charged with for impeachment. To be honest, he and many, many past presidents all were guilty of the same charge. That does not hurt the voters, only the reputation of the administration.S. Becker

You seem to be infected with that most liberal disease, mainly an inability to speak truthfully. The U.S. economy is strong, far stronger than in the mid and late 1990's; unemployment is very low, and veteran budgets are the highest ever.
As for reasons for impeachment, it is proven that Nixon and Clinton lied under oath. As far as one can tell that attempts to look at the FACTS, Bush has not lied to the nation. Misjudged, has inept advisors, unable to articulate clearly his visions, yes, but no lying. Big difference.
Rhetoric will only carry you to the party lines, not past them.

what fantasy land are you living in?because i want to move there!you need the facts!everytime he opens his pie hole lies fall out.get a clue.

It is high time for this Nation to wake up and stop shirking their responsibility to Impeach this President. I grew up less than 70 miles from Midland Texas and we were all aware of the type of man our President was when he ran for a State seat in our district. I listened to his rhetoric then shook his hand at a rally and immediately knew, THIS WAS NOT THE MAN FOR THE JOB. Needless to say, he lost the race to a man of character who was not ethically challenged. For these reasons, G.W. Bush never garnered my vote in either Presidential election. I am neither Democrat nor Republican. I am a proud American who wants his Country back. IMPEACH NOW!

What begins to nag me, (and I signed impeachment petitions at the start of the war)is that the huge responsibility of our history of clandestine involvement in the business and politics of foreign states looms as a larger problem than this awful President and the symptoms of the inflammation of our government organs that has made the whole world sick. Inflammation of government organs, a kind of infection of the government must be cured, but impeachment is only a local antibiotic. The larger question is that of the legions of ubiquitous "American interests" which, in the laboratory of the globalizing of capitalism have created the Frankensteins of Pinochet, Noriega, Hussein, Somoza and a host of others. We have incubated them, and nourished them. We the people, because there has never been an outrage and a concerted attempt to stop our black ops. Many people do not know about them, mostly because times are pretty good and who needs to know so much about why?

It should be no surprise that the problems of Watergate, particularly executive deception regarding war, have resurfaced a mere 30 years after Richard Nixon left office. Our Constitution has been conveniently ignored for too long by both Democrats and Republicans. Bush and Cheney should be impeached but the real target should be the imperial presidency which has involved this nation in wars, coup d'etats, and unratified commitments to foreign governments in clear violation of the fundamental principles of our Republic.

In denouncing Bush and Cheney, we should not forget Lyndon Johnson and the Tonkin Gulf Incident or Dwight Eisenhower and the 1953, CIA-instigated coup against the lawfully-elected government of Iran. Similarly, we should not forget guarantees given the Saud dynasty by Harry Truman and Franklin D. Roosevelt in total disregard of the treaty-ratifying perogative of the United States Senate. In fact, the present quagmire in the Middle East, including terrorism, has everything to do with American destruction of secular, representative government in Iran and American support for the corrupt despotism of both the Shah of Iran and the Saud dynasty. Our involvement in Iraq is unquestionably related to our long-term protection of oil-rich Saudi Arabia and our fear of the anti-Shah revolution in oil-rich Iran.

American presidents are not kings entitled to support other monarchs whenever they wish; they are chief executives of limited power supposedly responsible to the people and their elected representatives. Let's impeach Bush and Cheney but let's also restore our American Republic.

The most inept President in history and his cohorts are leading this
country down a path to environmental and economic suicide. Catering
to big business our clean air, clean water in riveers and streams
are being polluted at an alarming rate. The insufferable arrogance
of this administration has engenered the enmity of the civilized
world. "Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." - The Bard "Ah, what we yet may spend before we too into
the dust descend, sans wine, sans song, sans singer, sans end." -
The Rubyiat. Let us stand up and be counted! We can still make a
difference! Dr. Calvin Frederick

It is as if the real hurricane is not Katrina but GW Bush himself, wreaking havoc in every corner of our ordinary lives. His surveilance is a sham, if I were an enemy, I would use his surveillance to plant disinformation. Such shallow thinking on the part of those in office. Their lack of imagination has led to a paranoid version of the threats to the US when the real danger is the Bush Regime. Impeach him now.

Ms. Holtzman has crafted a brilliant description of the current state of our American democracy. I support her conclusions 100%. Now is the time for action

I believe this president far outranks Nixon as "most criminal," and reading the above essay by Elizabeth Holtzman on Impeachment bears this out. I am also convinced that he isn't intelligent enough, as Nixon was, to comprehend the enormity of the damage he has done our nation.

It is scary how true your believes are.

It is great to read more and more that people are calling for the Impeachment of George W. Bush and VP Richard Cheney. I remember the Impeachment of Richard Nixon and I remember that it was an unsettling event...but also a very necessary action! Whenever a President over-reaches and tries to become a Dictator, then a clear message needs to be sent to that President and all of his Cabinet: This is America. We, for better or worse, are a Democracy and we will NEVER tolerate a Dictator! Our Country was founded by men who fought and died to gain their freedom from Tyranny, and that spirit will never die! Whether male or female, I cannot imagine one person in this great country who would willingly acquiesce to total control by the Government! It ain'ta gonna happen!!!!! I, for one, am proud of that spirit and the strength of the people to speak out against this despotic Regime and say ENOUGH! I have been researching these issues for many months, even in the face of skepticism and often, ridicule, from my family and peers. I have graciously refrained from saying, "I told ya so!!" Well, sometimes!! I am NOT happy that these things have occured...the last few months of my life have been some of the most harrowing, as I watched with growing horror the slow erosion of our freedoms and the blatant ignorance-STUBBORN ignorance-and complacancy of the majority of people to just "live life as usual" and pay no mind to the horrific events unfolding in our country and government! Therefore, my relief is based on the continued awakening of the 95% and, thereby, increasing the majority!! "When the people lead, the leaders follow!" I am quoting this from a book written by Cathy O'Brien and Mark Phillips. I prayed, at the time I read those words, that they would hold true! I think they have and are!
I say the Impeachment of President Bush, VP Richard Cheney and the removal of Donald Rumsfeld and all other culpable members of Congress is the ONLY SOLUTION to the horrendous state of affairs we find ouselves in in this new century!
May 2006 be the year of return of power to the American People!!!

I agree with everything you say regarding the current administration. I believe it will take years to overcome what they have done to enrich themselves and their corporate friends at the 'peoples' expense. However, if you impeach the president and vp + Rumsfeild, who would take the place of the leader of our country? Hastert? He is just as bad as the rest.
Maybe it would be best to just pull the rug out from under them through our votes at mideterm. Then we can look to impeach!

I firmly support the impeachment of Pres. g.w. bush HE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This man is a threat to OUR National Security. He is irresponsible,a bully and a coward who thinks he is above the law. He is POWER MAD & more like a dictator than a president. I believe he has mental problems and/or is drinking and on drugs AGAIN.

There is one major drawback to impeaching Bush and that is the next in line to become president is DICK CHENEY who is corrupt and if it is possible WORSE than Bush. So if we put him in the office of president we'd be no better off than with Bush. This is not to mention his all too frequent health problems. The only solution is to remove both of them at the same time. Then, in the next election the country MUST vote out the Republicans who are dragging us all (except the rich among us) down to depths that it will take many years to extricate ourselves from. Some say it is well nigh impossible to bring us back to the level we were before the republicans took power.

It is the real americans like you that might lead to impeach draft dodger and Mr. Evil and his evil empire buddies, to many young male and females citizens have died for nothing except for his ego , and 1000 and 1000,s poor Iragii first Saddam now The American Hitler El Bush.

Even it Bush is impeached, as he should be for complete abuse of the rights of the American people and for his exploitation of the lives lost in September 11 in waging war, it will take years to undue the damage he has done to the soul of America.

The longer we wait to remove him from office the longer it will take for America to regain its moral leadership in the world.

We need to turn around a movement that is and will continue to cripple our futures as working Americans. We need not to just remove the head but to pluck the roots of the growth that has been choking American Freedom until it can be heard gasping for breath, while polluting the constitution and the design of our forefathers, as well as cutting the word "hope" from the working American's daily life. IMPEACH HIM NOW--and his roots.

THE FORMER IRAQI REGIME OF Saddam Hussein trained thousands of radical Islamic terrorists from the region at camps in Iraq over the four years immediately preceding the U.S. invasion, according to documents and photographs recovered by the U.S. military in postwar Iraq. The existence and character of these documents has been confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD by eleven U.S. government officials.

The secret training took place primarily at three camps--in Samarra, Ramadi, and Salman Pak--and was directed by elite Iraqi military units. Interviews by U.S. government interrogators with Iraqi regime officials and military leaders corroborate the documentary evidence. Many of the fighters were drawn from terrorist groups in northern Africa with close ties to al Qaeda, chief among them Algeria's GSPC and the Sudanese Islamic Army. Some 2,000 terrorists were trained at these Iraqi camps each year from 1999 to 2002, putting the total number at or above 8,000. Intelligence officials believe that some of these terrorists returned to Iraq and are responsible for attacks against Americans and Iraqis. According to three officials with knowledge of the intelligence on Iraqi training camps, White House and National Security Council officials were briefed on these findings in May 2005; senior Defense Department officials subsequently received the same briefing.

The photographs and documents on Iraqi training camps come from a collection of some 2 million "exploitable items" captured in postwar Iraq and Afghanistan. They include handwritten notes, typed documents, audiotapes, videotapes, compact discs, floppy discs, and computer hard drives. Taken together, this collection could give U.S.

intelligence officials and policymakers an inside look at the activities of the former Iraqi regime in the months and years before the Iraq war.

The discovery of the information on jihadist training camps in Iraq would seem to have two major consequences: It exposes the flawed assumptions of the experts and U.S. intelligence officials who told us for years that a secularist like Saddam Hussein would never work with Islamic radicals, any more than such jihadists would work with an infidel like the Iraqi dictator. It also reminds us that valuable information remains buried in the mountain of documents recovered in Afghanistan and Iraq over the past four years.

Nearly three years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, only 50,000 of these 2 million "exploitable items" have been thoroughly examined. That's 2.5 percent. Despite the hard work of the individuals assigned to the "DOCEX" project, the process is not moving quickly enough, says Michael Tanji, a former Defense Intelligence Agency official who helped lead the document exploitation effort for 18 months. "At this rate," he says, "if we continue to approach DOCEX in a linear fashion, our great-grandchildren will still be sorting through this stuff."

Most of the 50,000 translated documents relate directly to weapons of mass destruction programs and scientists, since David Kay and his Iraq Survey Group--who were among the first to analyze the finds--considered those items top priority. "At first, if it wasn't WMD, it wasn't translated. It wasn't exploited," says a former military intelligence officer who worked on the documents in Iraq.

Isn't it amazing what people will do to insert mind control items inside of a critique of mind control. The above article mentions that "only 50,000 of these 2 million "exploitable items" have been thoroughly examined". Well, I don't want to know about the labor pains. Show me the baby!!!

First you post anonymously, a practice I abhor, but strongly condone.

Then you make an assertion that contradicts both the commonly accepted knowledge and which you base on a source of limited crediblity (i.e., the Weekly Standard), I say that in full awareness of the bias of the article.

But it's accuracy I have confirmed for myself from other sources, in the light of my awareness of my own tendencies to be more trusting of leftist as opposed to rightist bias,as my views fall outside that limited paradigm.

Additionally , you do not give specific references which we can readily check.

If your claims are accurate, I would hope you would at least concede that they are counterintuitive.

You must realize that in entertaining your thesis, one must account for the failure of the bUSH administration to present this evidence, which if accurate, would prove highly supportive of their position.

I, for one, have no fear of evaluating evidence that contradicts my current, extremely firm conclusions.

I am throughly convinced that the "president" is guilty of CAPITAL crimes; I have loudly and frequently called for his IMPEACHMENT, trial for war crimes, and EXECUTION at this and other venues.

But I am a fallible human being; I can be wrong, as you insist I am.

Show me.

It is now plainly evident the Bush administration is using
"civilian control over the military" to enforce gangsterism over small counties for the purpose of taking their oil!

Torture and secret imprisonment are repulsive to every American!

The atrocious 9-11 horror is proving to be a massive hypnotic shock, to stun our minds while intense "SUGGESTIONS" were hammered into our minds by continuos repetition of the word "IRAQ TERRORISTS DESTROYED THOSE TWIN TOWERS AND THOUSANDS OF LIVES," before we could "THINK!"

Bush and Cheney have a grim history of experimenting with brutal torture to inflict MIND-CONTROL during their occupation in the growing-infamous CIA. This recorded in a stomach-turning documentary:

"TRANCE FORMATION OF AMERICA, by Cathy O'Brien and Mark Phillips."

(Available from bookstores. Read on an empty stomach).

I referred to a quote from these authors in my post below from the second book "Access Denied: for Reasons of National Security." Having also read Trance, I know much much more about this gang of thugs than I ever cared to know! Even though I much prefer being informed!! The Cheney-Devil truly IS evil, which I discerned from reading these books. Having also been a "victim" of trauma-based mind control in the late 60's via multi-generational abusive family studies and child sexual abuse-ergo, trauma-related to this, I can vouch for much that she writes in her books. Yet, even though her abuse and mine began within about 50 miles from one another, the extent of her abuse FAR surpasses mine! I met a woman on-line who grew up with Cathy and sent me her e-mail address. I wrote to her and she wrote back with some rather chilling words regarding my personal experiences. She wrote that the stories she recieves regarding trauma-based abuse are quite numerous! "All too common," is the way I seem to remember she phrased it! The essence of what I am saying here is that many of the things most are just now seeing come to light, have been going on for YEARS!! According to the authors, every single President since Ford (who is a very corrupt individual) have been (s)elected!! The things I read about pertaining to our "Government" in these books was truly nauseating!! I was slightly PTSD'd once again after reading them, although to a much lesser degree then when my abuses first occured in my younger years!! The assertion of the above poster that the people of America were in a state of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) after 9/11 and, therefore very maleable, is absolutely correct! I can say this with assurance bacause I not only experienced it, but I have researched the whole phenomenon plus the "facts" surrounding 9/11 extensively! When one-maybe two-persons make an assertion, it is suspect. When thousands come to the same conclusions, including physists and other hard scientists, then I believe I can refer to this statement as fact! One only has to watch the video's that are on numerous websites and remember them from the broadcasts at the time, to see that these buildings were demolished. The pancaked floors, jet-fueled heat theories are ludicrous!!I read a story of a high-rise in Madrid that burned at the requisite 800 degrees C. for 24 HOURS or more and DID NOT COLLAPSE!! The heat that was generated in the Towers (known via tape-recorded messages between fire-fighters in the building at the time) was no where NEAR this hot!!Therefore, the theory is flawed. Fatally flawed in many ways!! This is but one of them.
I, too, recommend that any person interested in knowing the TRUTH read these books by Cathy O'Brien and Mark Phillips. You will never be the same. And, for those who like to scoff, Cathy cites hundreds of references in her books in the footnotes and the Appendix which are very easy to substantiate!!
Definitely not for the squeamish.

The actions of George W Bush are far and above over due for impeachment. There have been many lies told which have resulted in over 2,100 men and women of our armed forces being killed for no reason. The actual instigator of the 9-11 horror has not been caught and it doesn't seem very important to George W Bush to do so. Torture and secret imprisonment are not acceptable.

This "Regime" is very scary. It seems very close to how the Nazis
took hold of Germany - secrecy. For the Safety & Future of our
America, we must get to the bottom of all the trickery & lies, and
clean house, putting real, honest Americans in Power.

Insiders are saying the Bush is planning on a first strike on Iran in May of 2006. This means a war that nobody can win.

We MUST act now to prevent any more disregarding of our own laws under the Constitution.

Taxation without representation is what I call our budget deficit expected to hit our children's and grandchildren's pockets years in the future. Is that legacy of debt a family value? To shackle the excess and failure and bankruptcy of bloated corporate oiligarchy capitalism upon our innocent unborn? How about owing foreign governments for the monies borrowed to murder civilians in Iraq? My father was a soldier, I know soldiering is honorable, but not when manipulated by lying and spying and breaking-the-law leaders.

we must impeach, for we have only one other choice ,that is
revolution !

I love my country and the rest of the world too. I want George Bush impeached before he does anymore damage to the world.

I am so glad that this America, which has been upended by this huge trainwreck we call the Bush Regime, is coming together to say No more!!! But, we must not lose sight of all of those in the administration that have committed High crimes and Misdemeanors. Do not forget Cheney, who was the mastermind behind all that has gone wrong. His Neo-con views of becoming Supreme above all has blinded him from calling the right shots.
Nor should we forget Rumsfeld, who has blundered the military actions from the beginning. This man would not listen to reason, and sent far less troops than what was recommended from high ranking Generals, sent our military off to fight without proper body armour, said he knew exactly where the WMD's were at and was getting close to finding them,etc.........
Condaleeza Rice, for the simple reason of sticking up for all the lies, and going on national TV and repeating these lies.
The list could go on and on, but these are the major players that should get the hatchet. Stand firm America, let your voices be heard. Write or call your Representatives and let them know how you feel. With enough pressure, we can win this. Let them know that accountability for actions is still practiced in American Government.

The new thing, prosecuting 'us' who protest the fascism, the illegality of his incessant law breaking, war mongering, murdering, hegemony, xenophobic crusade against everyone who doesn't get money from his so called 'faith based initiatives' (ILLEGAL BREACH OF THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE), as "DISRUPTORS" is the next step towards 'disappearing' those of us who dissent.

I think they need to know that 'civil war' in this country is not out of the question, if they miscalculate that the 60 or so percent of us who DO NOT WANT TO BE SUBJECTED TO HIS TYRANNY OR HIS DICTATORSHIP forever, will rise up and fight him in the streets if we have to. Of course, best done non-violently, but if that doesn't work, clearly we have a responsibility as REAL PATRIOTS to dismantle his illegal, illicit, criminal regime and begin anew. It is our RIGHT as CITIZENS to, if the government, as it is now, is so corrupt that it must be ENDED TO SAVE THIS REPUBLIC!!!

So folks, be ready for war, here at home, in the streets, if we fail to dislodge this right wing dictatorial bastard from his illegally seized power and re-institute a government that is bound by "RULE OF LAW" not constantly breaking it with "SIGNING STATEMENTS" which, in effect (LISTEN TO US, ALITO!!!) are an ILLEGAL ABROGATION OF THE CONSTITUTION BY VIRTUE OF SAYING THE PRESIDENT CAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT HE WILL LIVE BY AND WHAT HE WON'T LIVE BY. THIS IS UN-CONSTITUTIONAL, AND IT IS NOT LEGAL, AND IT MUST BE ENDED.

time to start preparing for the taking down of this regime, by force, if necessary. It could very well come to that.

There are so many reasons to impeach this administration it is almost comical, and yet tragedy at its worst. Why is not every single Democrat, Independent, Republican, left-wing, right-wing organization not working to clear this highly illegal group of scoundrels out of Washington? Everything from fixed "illections", torture, spying on citizens, illegal fund raising, incompetent responses to major catastrophes, inappropriate and inadequate support of troops sent to an illegal war and occupation are only the beginning. We are not even talking about the intangibles: the fact that almost every country on the planet now despises a country that used to inspire; that we have an obviously "stupid" person sitting in what used to be the most powerful office in the world; that we now have a neo-fascist government and that liberty, equality, freedom and peace are now not our primary values. How does screwing the entire world by an impotent idiot dictator compare to having a very smart, compassionate, competent leader having one's penis sucked by a relatively nice looking woman?

We have time to elect a veto proof & impeachment friendly Congress. Replace Bush friendly Senators by one third & over two hundred elephants need to be replaced not by me too donkeys but real progressives.
The Bush Crime Family stands on the top of corrupt oil monopolist pricing, Christian Theocratic Lobbyists from Abramanoff & his lackey DeLay to war profiteers Gilead Corporation with Rumsfeld profiting billions, not to mention Halliburton delivering fuel to our troops but not bullet proof vests, at prices triple what a man from Turkey could have delivered.
Holtzman & Clark have both called for Impeachment.
Now it is up to voters to demand a trial, conviction & removal from office all of the liars for killing for oil. If we don't who'll be next to be wiretapped? Peace is in waging justice, not forgetting the white phosphorous murders of innocents in the killing fields.

Gentlemen:

I have reached the point where I can no longer ignore, nor accept, the unconstitutional actions of President Bush and his administration. Acts that I never thought I would witness during my lifetime. Since the horror of 9/11 and the subsequent invasion of Iraq, I have been in a state of denial over the illegitimate and arrogant deeds of what I was raised to believe was the greatest nation on Earth - the United States of America. Well, I have awaken to reality.

Why am I so distraught? It is actually quite simple - the President of the United States has committed high crimes against “we the people.

THE REPUGNANT PARTY , SORRY MEAN,,,REPUBLICANS, WELL STILL REPUGNANT.
THEY IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT CLINTON, BECAUSE HE HAVE SEX, FUCKING MONICA, ??? ABOUT BUSH HE FUCK ALL OF US,AND OUR COUNTRY,WICH IS WORSE ?, AND WICH DESERVE THE REAL IMPEACHMENT, THE WAY I SEE IT, CLINTON DESERVE A MEDAL, AND BUSH THE IMPEACHMENT AND PRISON ,FOR TREASON SPYING ON US, AND KILLING OUR YOUNG PEOPLE IN THAT WAR, WHAT WAS ONLY TO GET THE OIL.NOW THE OIL IS $ 62,00 A BARREL. AND SOON WILL BE HUNDRED, WAIT, WHEN BUSH WILL START A NEW WAR WITH IRAN,
WE DON'T SEE NOTHING YET, BUSH STILL HAVE 3 MORE YEARS TO GO, GOD SAVE AMERICA, WE HAVE A MAD MAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE. BUSH IS IN LOVE WITH WEALTH AND POWER. IMPEACH THEM NOW .

George W. Bush deserves to be impeached more than any President I know. Bill Clinton's sexual misbehaviour pales beside the misdeeds, lies, and bad judgment posed by GWB. I would be happy to sign a petition for impeachment Ina Ayliffe, Dallas, Tx.

Rep. Conyers is an American hero! I think it's shameful how few of our elected officials are willing to take on the outlaw regime of Bush/Cheney. This isn't rhetorical language, their regime is in fact operating outside of the law: both United States law and international law. They are in breach of numerous international treaties to which the United States is a signatory. With their latest assertion of the right to wiretap Americans without a warrant, they have proved beyond doubt their contempt for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They must be impeached, and replaced by leaders who have demonstrated records of support for American democratic values.
