UnFreedom of Information

Here's a letter from the Department of "Defense" in response to a Freedom of Information Request from Congressman John Conyers and many other Congress Members. It includes this line:

"[The Defense Department] cannot favorably consider your request for a fee waiver . . . our current fee estimate for the processing of this request is $110,000; which does not include reproduction charges."

Is this our govt. speaking or the Mad Hatter?

When 52 members of congress have to jump through hoops to get information that pertains to the illegal actions committed by a sitting President we are truely lost.

Justice should not come with a price tag, we pay taxes to support our government, if that government has used our tax dollars to wage an Illegal war, then we should be entitled to a waiver.

I think we should urge congress to re-examine FOIA requirements in their next session, right after campaign finance reform.
