Tillman: McChrystal and the bush Administration

By jimstaro - Posted on 02 July 2010

This will remind more about the workings of the bush administration, and should, but as the article below points out Gen McChrystal won't feel comfortable about it nor should many in the Army leadership as well as the Pentagon at the time. This shouldn't only remind people of just the Tillman tragic incident and fabrication of what took place, but the others already known about as well, in Iraq and Afghanistan, all the cover ups, fabrications and lies! DeJa-Vu of us older vets time!

The Tillman Story

Featuring candid and revelatory interviews with Pat's fellow soldiers as well as his family, Amir Bar-Lev’s emotional and insightful film not only shines a light on the shady aftermath of Pat’s death and calls to task the entire chain of command but also examines themes as timeless as the notion of heroism itself. This New Pat Tillman Documentary Will Make McChrystal's Retirement Less Pleasant

July 01, 2010 Sick of reading about Stanley McChrystal yet? Brace yourself. The newly retired general won't be getting in many relaxing golf games or afternoon naps anytime soon—at least not if a new documentary about the death the professional football player turned Army ranger Pat Tillman has any say about it. In the film, which will open next month, documentarian Amir Bar Lev explores the myth-making by both the government and the media following the death of Tillman, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2004. EDIT: I'm making some edits on July 5th to what I had initially written about the ABC News Nightline video.

The first video, below, is a very interesting report from ABC News Nightline and it doesn't say what date this was recorded, but much of it is based on an interview with Jon Krakauer, who was provided Pat Tillman's journal by his wife. Jon Krakauer used the journal(s) for his book about the Pat Tillman story, "Where Men Win Glory".

I believe the video was recorded in 2009 and after July for near the end we learn that Gen. McChrystal was questioned during the prior July in Afghanistan and I don't know of him having been there in 2008. A little prior to that part of the clip we learn from Jon Krakauer that Gen. McChrystal learn of Pat Tillman's death having been by "friendly fire" either later on the day he was killed, or no later than the next day.

Gen. McChrystal completely refused to answer ABC News' questions about Pat Tillman, and Donald Rumsfeld also totally refused when ABC News asked him.

One of the very interesting things learned in the above report is mentioned beging at roughly 8:17 and ends at roughly 8:58. That part of the clips shows what ABC News says was learned about the actual location of Pat Tillman's death. We are shown film footage of the location and it strikes me, for what's shown of the location or general location earlier in the video and in the CBS video further below seems considerably different. In the latter cases, it looks very credible that Pat Tilman was high up from the road at the bottom of the ravine where the road or path traveled by the U.S. vehicles was located. In the 8:17 to 8:58 part of the ABC News video, it seems clear that Pat Tilman should have been very visible to the soldiers who fired on him and the other two persons he was with.

When I first wrote this I mistakenly said that we don't see the steep mountainsides on both sides of the road at the bottom of the ravine, but I just reviewed the 8:17 to 8:58 part of the ABC video and we do see high and steep mountains, though not like seen in an earlier part of the video as well as other videos from other sources. These others don't show an elevated, but nevertheless relatively low-lying and very open, visible area, one of considerable surface area, too, which is what we see in the 8:17 to 8:58 part of the ABC clip.

That apparently is the real location of where Pat Tillman was killed and I don't see how he could've been mistaken for a resistance fighter. He would've been very visible.

He was not killed at night and there was nothing to hide him from view. There was a small boulder which he apparently tried to use for protection against the so-called "friendly fire", but it would've been difficult, for it's a small boulder in a very open area.

What we see earlier in the ABC News report, the CBS video further below, and in other videos is a road at the bottom of a ravine with [only] steep mountainsides on both sides, as well as also further up the road, where, from a distance, it looks like the road might be a dead end. We therein do not see a wide-open area like where Pat Tilman was really killed.

CBS 60 Minutes video:

The following CBS report of April 4th, 2008, is nevertheless interesting. Mary Tillman and several veterans from the convoy that Pat Tillman was part of when he was killed are interviewed; although I seriously wonder about what some of the interviewed soldiers say about the location where Pat was killed, for as stated above, the film footage of the actual location that was obtained from the U.S. military is very different. And I believe the same is true for what one or more of the soldiers or vets interviewed in the above ABC News report said about the location.

Part 2 (3:45)

The following testimony from Kevin Tillman is a good start for what he's had to say, but too short. He's said much more than what he said in this Congressional testimony, in which we still get information of value.

The following testimony is from a veteran who says that he was with Pat Tillman when they were fired on by the other group from their military "element". If what he says is true, then it's very clear that cover-up began the same day that Pat Tillman, Bryan O'Neal and an Afghan army soldier were fired on and Pat and the Afghan were killed. Bryan O'Neal said that he told several sergeants and possibly higher-ranked officers later the same day that Pat was killed that it was due to being fired on by U.S. troops.

There are more videos at Youtube. And people who using the Google Videos search engine page and search for videos 20 minutes and longer using the Google option for this, while using "Pat Tillman", alone, for search text will find lengthy videos. There's a 60-minute one at fora.tv, "Mary Tillman on the Life and Death of Pat Tillman", but also some other videos over a half hour in length.

According to the ABC News report video in my first post, above, Pat Tillman first served in the war on Iraq and quickly realized that it was evidently for the oil resources and not for the reasons Bush et al had claimed to start the war. And Pat was opposed to this, saying it was a criminal war. He didn't enlist to serve in Iraq; he had apparently enlisted to try to help track down Osama bin Laden, et alia.

But I read a number of times from different writers that Pat Tillman had also become opposed to the war on Afghanistan, though maybe what these people said was that he was opposed to the way the U.S. was fighting or conducting the "war on terrorism".

According to the following Alex Jones Show clip of Nov. 12th, 2009, however, Pat Tillman became opposed or very considerably opposed to the war on Afghanistan and made this quite clear in letters to his mother. He apparently told her that U.S. top elites were having U.S. forces protect opium and, therefore, heroin production, and that they ordered U.S. troops who had captured Al Qaeda and top Taliban leaders to release them, after which they were flown to Pakistan. And Alex Jones adds that U.S. top elites also provided these Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders with plenty of financial rewards. And Pat apparently also had begun to question 9/11.

Alex Jones says that this information was from Pat's mother and his brother Kevin.

For this part of the clip, people can listen starting at around 5:00 until roughly 7:10; or just listen to the whole clip.

"Was Pat Tillman Murdered by an American Sharpshooter to Shut Him up?"

by Richard Clark, June 26, 2010

http://www.opednews.com/articles/Was-Pat-Tillman-murdered-b-by-Richard-C...

That article is short, but has two pages and both provide links to supporting articles and videos, but the second page also provides a link for a page of excellent photos of poppy fields being grown in Afghanistan and U.S. and other troops patrolling the area, while apparently also helping to protect the fields or some of the fields.

It was quickly believed by plenty of writers of articles and people discussing in forums that Pat Tillman was deliberately murdered, assassinated, and while I doubt there's concrete proof of this, it's a question that seems important to keep in mind. His views that correctly developed were shared by him. He told plenty of people and this was surely a very risky thing to do.

Re. Gen. McChrystal

The following is a short, but strong article for it's length.

"Massive expansions of US-NATO “counterinsurgency” in Afghanistan
McChrystal demands bloodshed"

by Larry Chin, Oct. 8, 2009

FTW's "THE TILLMAN FILES":

The following page is an index for FTW's investigative series entitled, "The Tillman Files", which were written by Stan Goff, ret. US Army, while Mike C. Ruppert contributed to this work in assisting with the analysis of roughly 2,000 pages of documents that the U.S. military gave to Pat Tillman's mother. Following the list of hyperlinked articles there's a picture and beneath it there's a related text that that's short, but worth reading.

http://www.fromthewilderness.com/the_tillman_files.shtml

I basically got that link from Larry Chin's above article at Global Research; just that he had used a link to the same index at the end of another page that's a long index of FTW's past WW3 articles.

And I haven't read the seven-part article series yet, but just read the correction article and definitely recommend that it be read before the seven parts. It's probably worth reading even if we don't read any of the seven-part series written before the correction piece, which briefly explains what kind of command structure Pat Tillman was serving under in Afghanistan. Stan Goff has experience working in or uder such command structure so it's worth reading what he says about this.

Since Larry Chin linked to this article series in his piece of last Fall and he's normally or always a good writer, I believe, the seven-part series might be worth reading.
