Take Action: Contact Congress to End Afghanistan War Funding

By Anonymous - Posted on 08 June 2010

Action Alert: House members are returning to Washington. Perhaps as early as this week, they will be asked to vote on the $33.5 billion Supplemental, just passed in the Senate.

While skepticism about the war in Afghanistan and General McChrystal's strategy is widespread, most members of Congress are unwilling to take a decisive action, unless they feel strong and direct pressure from their constituents.

Many of us feel as though we've been calling these elected officials forever. So this is a good reason to forward this message not only to our groups, but to five friends and one relative who have never called before.

Across the country, UFPJ and other national organization are asking each member of Congress to do the following:

  • Agree to vote NO on the $33.5 billion Supplemental for war spending. (Last week sixteen of eighteen Senate supporters of the Feingold amendment, turned around and voted in favor of the Supplemental). If the Congress does not require a real "exit plan," this is all the more reason for our representatives to vote against additional war funding.
  • Agree to co-sponsor HR 5015 requiring the President to provide a plan and timetable for removing all US troops from Afghanistan. Text and List of 93 Co-Sponsors
  • Join the newly created Out of Afghanistan Congressional Caucus by contacting Mike Darner in Congressman Conyers' office.

The same is still true today. "The Government" still supports the war mongers, and the war profiteers, who help control the elected officials that make up "The Government".
These elected officials, as witnessed by the Senate vote, are told When, Where, How many, for what, by Corporate America's International Bribery Organizations,(Lobbist) who have already bought the votes of the majority of the elected officials who are providing the necessary votes in "The Government" to maintain control of "The Government".
Many elected officials are using Misleading and Deceptive promises and comments to appease "We the People's" short term memory by trying to convience the voters into beleiving that they are really supporting the public's views. BUT THEY HAVE NO, ZERO, ZILCH INTENT TO GO AGAINST CORPORT AMERICA'S AGENDAS.
Go to your Webster's Dictionary and read the definition for "LIE" and "LIAR". Most of these elected officials are very efficient in their practices of Misleading and Deceiving "We the People".
