Israel Denies South African Nuclear Weapons Agreement

Israel gave concrete assurances to John F Kennedy in 1963 that it was not, and would not, be involved in building nuclear weapons at Dimona. Those assurances were never in accordance with the facts and the covert Israeli nuclear weapons program has been continuously in existence ever since.

Now that it is proven that Mordechai Vanunu was telling the truth about Israel’s dangerously clandestine nuclear weapons program, in 1986, and was indeed acting out of real concern for global security, is it not now time that an embargo is placed on all trade with the Israeli state until this brave man is released from detention and free from the continuous intimidation of the security police.

A period of twenty four years of intimidation and imprisonment for informing a disbelieving world of Israel’s deception is a cruel and unusual punishment that is incompatible with a claimed democratic state.

It is also way beyond time that the US government ceases supporting the ploy of nuclear ambiguity that allows Israel to continue treating the nations of the free world, who are signatories to nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament, as idiots. Unfortunately, that includes the administration of President Obama.
