at "Mission accomplished" day, I wondered, what aims this "mission" had.

WMD? They were not found than and are still not.

Saddam? If it was about him, then only the capture, or better the trial was a "mission" success.
OK, capture was in Dec. 2003. But the trial? I am waiting...

The mission aim now seemed to bring freedom and democracy to iraq. But, unfortunatly, the military from abroad enpowers insurgency.
So we have a paradoxon mission with an aim that never will be archieved. It's an Orwellian dream- an ever lasting war to make endless profit and spread fear to reign at home.

This chronology of Bush missions statements is the best and most concise evidence that I have seen which clearly demonstrates that George W. Bush is incapable of any consistency and is basically an incompetent, amateurish and immoral as a so-called world leader.

I suppose our nation has reached this low level as a result of decades of decline in the teaching of basic civics. I wonder how many Americans under the age of 25 understand the basic premise of American federal government, i.e. separation of powers.

A major effort to reacquaint the American public with the substance of the US Constitution is essential if we are to regain America's greatness. What the framers intended NOT to happen in America is now rapidly unravelling right in front of our noses. Unfortanately, a great many Americans have no clue what is happening around them.

The fact that Bush has been able to "make it up as he goes along" is a clear indictment of the American people and, especially, the media. It is particularly disgusting to see, hear and read the cheerleading in the mainstream media's support of Bush. Bush's name should be spelled TEFLON!

All truly freedom loving Americans MUST demand accountablility and RIGHT NOW! IMPEACH THE SON OF A BUSH!!!!!

Dear Richard J. Schaedler, Amen and Amen to your reply. But one thing your wrong about...Bush is a son-of-a-bitch. Enough said...

March 6, 2003 - President George Bush Discusses Iraq in National Press Conference

QUESTION: Thank you, sir. Mr. President, millions of Americans can recall a time when leaders from both parties set this country on a mission of regime change in Vietnam. Fifty thousand Americans died. The regime is still there in Hanoi, and it hasn't harmed or threatened a single American in the 30 years since the war ended. What can you say tonight, sir, to the sons and the daughters of the Americans who served in Vietnam to assure them that you will not lead this country down a similar path in Iraq?

BAGHDAD BUSH: That's a great question. Our mission is clear in Iraq. Should we have to go in, our mission is very clear: disarmament. And in order to disarm, it would mean regime change. I'm confident we'll be able to achieve that objective, in a way that minimizes the loss of life. No doubt there's risks in any military operation; I know that. But it's very clear what we intend to do. And our mission won't change. Our mission is precisely what I just stated. We have got a plan that will achieve that mission, should we need to send forces in.

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Our chief weapon is surprise. Surprise and fear, fear and surprise...

Our TWO WEAPONS are fear and surprise and ruthless efficiency.

Our THREE weapons are fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, and an almost fanatical devotion to the pope.

etc.

From war profiteering to federal judiciary tampering to ruling after ruling of the courts against the interests of the people and oh so much more, this president and his cronyistic leaders, are certainly the absolute worst in our countries history. We are going down fast, and if we the people do not demand his impeachment and prosecution for many of his cabinet liars; if we cannot expect accountability for these high crimes, then we are doomed as a free nation. What will happen, and what IS happening, is greed is the real power in the world. Heads MUST roll on this one or we are never again to be safe from the dark influence of greed, which will eventually consume even itself, the nation in the process. If one president gets an impeachment for a cigar or a dress, then this one better be reviewed for lying about war; the single most dispicable and horrible thing the leader of the "free" world can do.

Amen!

The oil men in the White House have never really talked about what the war is about to them. It's about the oil. They determined that they had to set up a police state in the Middle East in order to assure a constant access to reasonably-priced oil, because we're running out. it's no joke this time, the world oil production probably peaked sometime in the last two years. It's been thirty years since oil production in this country peaked. The only way we've been able to insure relatively inexpensive oil over the last 30 years was because Alaska and the North Sea strikes happened relatively late. And the Saudis were bribeable, and willing to open the spigot when necessary. They aren't going to be able to continue to do that, no matter what President Bush says or does to them. The House of Saud is on the downward slide. They care only about the oil, which is why we are building four huge permanent bases in iraq.
Everything else pales in comparison.

For those of you who are so determined to accuse our occupation of Iraq on the oil business, let me just give you three facts.

1. We went to war at the urging and the manipulation of the Israeli lobby to make the Middle East into Israel's image. The neocons are all Zionists, and their justification for raping and pillaging the land in their name was written as a document called "Project for the New American Century".

2. The oil business was happily ensconsed in Iraq only it wasn't the AMERICAN oil companies. Iraqi oil was managed and run largely by European oil companies such as Total, Shell, and BP. It's why Germany and France were so outraged about going to war. They lost billions of Euros.

3. American had to get its bases out of Saudi Arabia or face another attack from fundamentalist Moslems who saw our bases there as an affront to Islam. They were as outraged at "crusader" bases on their holy land as we would be if the Moslems were to establish a base in the Vatican.
