Got XM Satelite Radio? Here's Where to Tune on Saturday!
I want to take a moment and inform you of who is going to be "On With Leon" this Saturday the 25th of June from 2:00 -4:00 PM ET.
2:00 - 4:00 PM ET Did President George W. Bush intentionally mislead Congress in his quest to topple Saddam Hussein?
This is the question that was at the heart of a hearing conducted by Congressman John Conyers (D-Michigan) on Thursday, June 16. Should this be investigated? The "Downing Street Memo" is a confidential British intelligence communication, written months before the war began, that was leaked to the Sunday Times of London. Ostensibly, it indicates that the Iraq war/invasion was the only agenda from the start, that Saddam Hussein was no real threat to anyone, and that the intelligence (e.g. weapons of mass destruction, mobile chemical labs, etc.) was being "fixed" to support the policy. In other words, the invasion of Iraq (which the United Nations called "illegal"), with its 1,700 dead U.S.soldiers and 100,000-plus dead Iraqis, and its $300-billion price tag, was based on fabrications and plain old-fashioned lies.
Congressman Conyers will "reconvene" this hearing on my program this Saturday. We will be joined by John Bonifaz, author of Warrior-King: The Case For Impeaching George W. Bush.
Cindy Sheehan, her son Casey Sheehan re-enlisted with the Army in August of 2003, knowing that his unit would eventually be deployed in Iraq. Casey, a Humvee mechanic with the 1st Calvary, was killed in Sadr City on April 4th of this year. He was only 24 years old. Angered that her son was sent to fight and die in an unjust war for reasons that have proven to be lies, Cindy is speaking out about the Iraq invasion.
Ray McGovern - Ray McGovern’s 27-year career as a CIA analyst spanned administrations from John F. Kennedy to George H. W. Bush. His current focus dovetails nicely with the passage carved into the marble entrance to CIA Headquarters: “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free
