October Rallys and Demonstrations Protest Afghan War

The following article [NYCLAW] Antiwar Movement: US braced for surge of protest over war in Afghanistan
gives us a picture of the growing opposition
to our troops fighting in Afghanistan. Protests and demonstrations are being scheduled in October challenging Pres. Obama and the Military. Even a few soldiers have refused to go to Afghan to fight and military families, whose sons and daughters have fought (and some have been injured or killed) are reconsidering the war and their support of it. Let's continue to protest and call for an end to any troop escalation (on hold by the administration now) and an increase in diplomatic efforts with the government there and those moderate Taliban who may listen "to reason' and join our side or at least denounce the continued fighting. The State Department could take a greater role in helping to calm things down there...
