I'm all for investigating and prosecuting the crimes of the Bush administration; but in a real sense this would be a distraction. We progressives must recognize that we're in a war - a war of destruction declared by the radical right. Unless we on the left combine our strengths and fight back, we won't prosecute Bush or do anything else meaningful. The right is united. We see it every day in their viral e-mails and their lock-step talking points. But progressives are fragmented into dozens, if not hundreds, of unrelated groups, each pursuing its own special interest. This makes us ineffectual and vulnerable. I want to see us all pull together into a single coordinated umbrella organization that cooperates in both defense and offense. I want us to begin targetting right wingers for no-holds-barred annihilation. When we've destroyed the right both as individuals and as a political entity, then we can begin cleaning up the leftover garbage, like Bush and Cheney.
