but an interesting interview. I have always gotten a bit queazy when black gatherings (even watching the Tavis Smiley State of Black America weekends) often end up with prayers and gospel singing. Was told churches often were used as cover to teach slaves how to read and write when that was seriously not allowed, so a bond from that remains. Glad to read article. Thanks.
