I have long been baffled by all the calls for various inquiries and investigations to "discover" probable grounds for impeaching George W Bush.

The U.S. constitution makes international treaty obligations undertaken by the United States its "highest law". One would expect, therefore, that numerous violations of U.S. "highest law" (U.N. Charter, Geneva Conventions, etc.) would be painfully obvious. It would at least be sufficiently evident to result in the immediate indictment of any other murder suspect, and impeachment is merely the presidential equivalent of an indictment (NOT conviction).

If the entire country has bought into Bush's argument that no such "highest laws" apply to him, he must also be immune to any prohibitions against mere lying. So what, in the circumstances, would be the point in prolonged investigations into any other incidental matters?

Oh the hell with it get the tar, feathers and a rope.

Merriam-Webster:
im·pe·ri·al·ism - the policy, practice, or advocacy of extending the power and dominion of a nation especially by direct territorial acquisitions or by gaining indirect control over the political or economic life of other areas; broadly: the extension or imposition of power, authority, or influence.

Now - from the Project for the New American Century (PNAC - prominent members include Cheney, Libby, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Jeb Bush, with Dubya playing the role of puppet) plan of execution, as referenced in the above article:

Withdrawal from international treaties.

Stop reducing missiles.

Develop "new" nuclear weapons.

Increase military spending.

Multiple, simultaneous major theatre wars.

Pressure China.

Expand military parameters.

Create military presence in Southeast Asia.

Remove hostile regimes. ("we cannot allow North Korea, Iran, Iraq or similar states to undermine American leadership")

Develop a "world-wide command-and-control system".

Circumvent U.N. Authority.

Permanent bases in Middle East.

Dominate space.

Dominate cyberspace.

These people are not interested in spreading democracy. They want to literally rule the world. They MUST be stopped.
