House Democrats Gut Climate Bill in 'Compromise'

When many in the 'environmental' movement take positions that are compromised from the beginning what do they expect when the politicians decide to settle for even less!?

I mean, no new coal plants is not a good place to start especially when some environmentalists and scientists recognize a need to shut down existing ones and make a rapid shift to a carbon-free economy sooner.

So the outrage or surprise strikes me as a bit naive.
