Intelligence Report: Pelosi Briefed on Use of Interrogation Tactics in Sept. ’02
By Rick Klein | ABCNews
The report also details dozens of other meetings with members of Congress -- though not with Pelosi present -- where the use of waterboarding and other interrogation techniques was described.
ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was briefed on the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” on terrorist suspect Abu Zubaydah in September 2002, according to a report prepared by the Director of National Intelligence’s office and obtained by ABC News.
The report, submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee and other Capitol Hill officials Wednesday, appears to contradict Pelosi’s statement last month that she was never told about the use of waterboarding or other special interrogation tactics. Instead, she has said, she was told only that the Bush administration had legal opinions that would have supported the use of such techniques.
The report details a Sept. 4, 2002 meeting between intelligence officials and Pelosi, then-House intelligence committee chairman Porter Goss, and two aides. At the time, Pelosi was the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee.
The meeting is described as a “Briefing on EITs including use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah, background on authorities, and a description of particular EITs that had been employed.”

No More Two Party dictatorship.
expect more of the same
I was a Libertarian for 20 years. I began going to meetings on Spring Street in NYC and there I met a bunch of screwballs. When Harry Brown campaigned to eliminate Social Security (that is a paid for retirement plan -- not welfare) I finally realized it was grotesque.
The Green Party is also run by screwballs who nominated Cynthia McKinney. She believes there are 5000 people buried in a swamp in La.
The people here who are finally waking up to the Obama manipulation, sell out might also join the Green Party to take control of it. That is the easiest way to win elections. The most important issue is jobs, and jobs will never be available unless the trade policy protects jobs from the exploitation of dictatorship run countries that enslave their citizens.
The words of a traitor to the rule of law, Speaker Pelosi, who turned her back on the nation's Constitution, complicit herself in torture and war crimes, crimes against peace, and crimes against humanity, funding an illegal and immoral war and occupation in Iraq, enabling and covering up Bushco's war crimes and high crimes at every turn, even nullified the nation's Constitution by taking impeachment off the table, a lifesaving safeguard provided for in the Constitution by our founding fathers, even though Bushco's crimes are now a matter of public record. If Obama wanted real change, as he promised over and over again to the American people, off the table Pelosi must herself be dumped as Speaker off the table and war crimes trials must proceed against the Bushco high command in the spirit of Nuremberg, resurrected especially for Bush and his more than willing cohorts, Rice, Powell, Rusmsfeld, Cheney et al.
They are showing us that we are entirely powerless against them in the Congress and the presidency. The puppets do not have morals. They are chosen for their lack of morals and character.
But they can never make us agree with them and accept their immorality. They also have to pretend that they are paragons of virtue when they clearly are not.

Nancy Polosi is no fool
Waterboarding was a form of torture that was used during the Spanish Inquisition. We executed a man after World War Two for subjection soldiers to waterboarding. We have convicted our own soldiers for war crimes for using this interrogation technique. Every fool knows that waterboarding is a crime, and Nancy Polosi is no fool. If she was aware that this was used on someone, and remained silent, she could possibly be an accomplice to a crime after the fact. If she new, as she has said, that it had been approved by Bush administration lawyers, and could be possibly used in the future as an interrogation technique, it was her obligation to come forward with the information. Keeping silent about a crime which is about to happen, or a crime in progress, puts her in a much worse position of being a full accomplice to that crime.
I wouldn't get any joy out of seeing this women go to prison, but I would be thrilled to see her get kicked out of Congress. She has been a blight to the Democratic Party, and the Nation.
Isn't the word dumbocrats, the same thing as the word democraps. I was ridiculed and edited fore using the word democraps the other day. Because of my intentional misspelling of the word, I was informed that we do not do name calling on this sight, Isn't calling Nancy Polosi a bitch name calling? May be the After Downing Street Sensors missed that one.
John J. Coghlan: You were not ridiculed. You were asked to comply with ADS' policy, and not use pejoratives for the Democratic Party because ADS is a non-partisan website.
John J.Coghlan
Thank you Chip for telling me that it was not your intention to ridicule. I will try not to use pejoratives in the manner that I did in the future. Using pejoratives against any group of people is a bad thing as you pointed out. I must say though that, ADS is the furthest thing from a non-partisan website. I have been reading or at least skimming over all of articles posted since ADS's beginning, and I have never seen one supporting the Conservative, or Republican positions. To its benefit ADS is a liberal progressive web sight.
To me non-partisanship, has been the excuse for doing nothing, for some Democrats. Some Democrats seem to think, or would like us to think, that it is best to have a non-partisan big happy family in Washington, while partisanship, unity, and a drive to win, using any means, is a way of life to the Republicans. Nero fiddled while Rome burned, and the Democrats just sat around being nice to everybody. Civility is important, but creating a strong movement to confront lawlessness should avoid being nice to war criminals, and creating harmony with thieves, and scoundrels.
After Downing Street has been criticizing, condemning, cursing, and even demeaning Republicans for their looting of our treasury, trashing our Constitution, and their immoral and illegal activities. Well, the Republicans are not in charge anymore. We have to open our eyes to the fact that the the Republicans are not the only ones doing this.
I hope that After Downing Street will continue in its fully partisan way to build a movement to take beck our country. It should be non-partisan only in the sense that it will go after anybody in government that is not acting in our country's best interest.
