Tell the Senate to Give Cluster Bombs the Boot! Join the National Call-In Day Monday, March 30

Take Action

Spread the word about the March 30th national call-in day to ban cluster bombs.  Then, on Monday, March 30, call 1-800-590-6313 to ask your senator to cosponsor the Cluster Munitions Civilian Protection Act, S. 416.

Why?

In mid-March, Congress passed a law permanently banning exports of nearly all U.S.-made cluster bombs.

Now we need Congress to finish the job by preventing any further use by U.S. troopsCall your senators on Monday, March 30 and ask them to co-sponsor the Cluster Munitions Civilian Protection Act, S. 416.  This legislation would prohibit the U.S. from using any cluster bombs that leave behind an unacceptably large number of landmine-like "dud" cluster submunitions-small bombs that keep on killing.  It would also prohibit any use of these weapons in areas where civilians are normally present-like cities and villages.  Increased support for this legislation in the Senate will show President Obama that he has the public's backing to sign the global treaty banning cluster bombs and send it to the Senate for ratification.

Go to http://www.fcnl.org/weapons/mar30_call.htm for a call script and to find out if your senators are already cosponsors.  For more information on cluster bombs, visit www.banclusterbombs.org.
