It is Time!

Until the national organizations like UFPJ call for the occupation of the entire 535 district offices throughout the United States on the same day there will be no success, they will just ignore or laugh at our efforts. These creatures called politicians do not fear us and that is a truism that few of us have accepted. They do not respect us; they do not represent us in the halls of Congress.

So call for all the marches, protest and vigils and feel good, but please don‘t delude yourself that you are making change. Yes, the dems are as bad as the repubs because they know better--- they watch and do nothing. The last vote in the Senate concerning the slaughter of the Palestinians was unanimous and in the House only 5 out of 435 said no to a resolution indorsing Israel right to exist with our full support; during the time Israel was committing war crimes on a scale not seen in years.

The closeness of the National Peace Movement to the Democratic Party is understandable but must be resisted on every level. To be a progressive does not mean you have to be a democrat!

When the leaders of the National Organizations follow the lead of what is done on the local level, real and significant change will take place. UFPJ and others must be bold and tell our reps that we are pissed and will not take their corruption/cowardice much longer. In Portland, Oregon, we will stay in the streets with our signs telling our two senators and our five reps to do their job or they will not be going back in 2010/12. We will sit in, lockdown, and be a pain in the ass because that is how change takes place.
