THEY ALL DID FROM THE BEGINNING!

Just more set of lies and cover-ups. I think their reasoning is actually fairly obvious -- they'll do anything to hold onto power as long as they can. Borrowed time is better than no time, so put off responsibility as long as possible. Heck, maybe it will even go away on its own, given enough time and indifference.

They may have also believed that they were going to do such incredibly great things for the country that these minor matters would be overlooked by lawmakers and citizens. How much could one little act of treason matter when you've grabbed the world's resources for the exclusive use of the American elite? Eventually, given "trickle down," regular Americans might even benefit.

Another likely angle is that they were acting like a child that did something wrong and then had to keep creating more and more fiction to hide it. Most adults have figured out that this is not a good approach, for any number of reasons. Hopefully these childish and arrogant (very bad combination!) people have reached the end of their rope, though.

Many thanks to you, Rep. Conyers, for your huge part in exposing their ridiculous behavior to the masses. One just has to wonder where the masses have been all this time -- there's really not that much sand in the red states to hide your head in!
