Rumors Fly That Cheney Will Step Aside, Bush Will Elevate Condi Rice...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com

Sparked by today's Washington Post story that suggests Vice President Cheney's office is involved in the Plame-CIA spy link investigation, government officials and advisers passed around rumors that the vice president might step aside and that President Bush would elevate Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

"It's certainly an interesting but I still think highly doubtful scenario," said a Bush insider. "And if that should happen," added the official, "there will undoubtedly be those who believe the whole thing was orchestrated – another brilliant Machiavellian move by the VP."

Deja Vu, Batman . . . Anyone remember when VP Spiro Agnew stepped down from the Nixon administration?

So, what next? Condi Rice plays Gerald Ford, becomes president and pardons Bush from all War Crimes when he resigns rather than face impeachment?

Meanwhile, we are still locking up 18 year olds in prison for having a friggin' bag of reefer . . . for their own good, mind you.
(another "crime" Bush, Prince Harry, and countless other rich kids obviously have immunity to)

Poor, poor Dick Cheney . . . how will he ever surive on his measly Halliburton assets??? Perhaps we should hold a bake sale or a benefit concert . . . DICK AID . . . I think I have Bob Geldof's phone number around here somewhere. . . ;-)

"And he’s oh, so fine,
And he’s oh, so healthy,
In his body and his mind.
He’s a well respected man about town,
Doing the best things so conservatively."

peace.

Something tells me President Bush would not resign, even if the House does impeach him. More likely he would have Tom DeLay come out and blame such an impeachment on an attempted coup backed up by the "liberal media."

But I don't think Condi would be able to protect Dubya (or herself, for that matter) from an internatoinal criminal court.

Although I seem to remember a recent story (posted on this site, I believe) that talked about the Constitution and the reasons revealed in a reading of the impeachment clause that Bush could not be pardoned in such a situation.

Anybody got a link to that story?

Condi Rice Vice President, Bolton Secretary of State?

Condi lied to Congress too in the 911 investigation and to start up the Bushco's favorite illegal war. Her name should be on an indictment ASAP.
