James Burmeister Is A Free Man: Had Gone AWOL After Refusing to Engage in "Bait and Kill"
Carol Rawert Trainer:
I just want to inform everyone that James Burmeister was released suddenly and to his surprise from the Ft. Knox holding center on Tuesday, October 28 after serving over 4 months in prison. He was given a small clemency in his term and released 3 weeks early. James was happy to get it. James said that he would receive an Other Than Honorable discharge instead of a bad conduct discharge and he thinks there is a chance that he may keep his benefits, depending on how the appeal goes. He received over 200 letters while he was there and he took them all home in his duffel bag. He was very appreciative and surprised by everyone's support. He is now home near Eugene, OR with his family. Thanks to everyone who participated in 1) sending letters to James, 2) the clemency request letter writing campaign, 3) monetary donations, and 4) prayers for James, etc.
