i dont know whether to cry or to laugh. "the lord selects our leaders".i didnt know his last name was diebold. how is the lord related to the diebolds?

What a fool!!!

His mom needs to shut up and let the boy talk!!! It's incredibly arrogant of him AND his mother to think that an all powerful being would need THEIR help with anything ... that's the point everyone misses when discussing god. GOD DOESN"T NEED A MAN TO TELL YOU ANYTHING let alone Sarah Palin or Fox News or a preacher for that matter ... listen NOT to the traditions of man. That's the point ...

I suggest you do an update on this fella later ... but I'm sure you already knew that ....

Palin mistakes fans for protesters

Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin's week to forget has taken another blow after she mistook some of her own fans for hecklers at a rally in Richmond, Virginia.

The misunderstanding arose after many of the 20,000-strong crowd gathered at the Richmond International Raceway had difficulties hearing what she was saying and began chanting "Louder! Louder!"

As the cry spread across the crowd to Palin's left, some pointed skyward, urging that the volume be increased.

However, Palin hit back and said: "I hope those protesters have the courage and honour to give veterans thanks for their right to protest."

More than 25 people who had stood for more than three hours on a searing hot day collapsed from heat-related illnesses, according to authorities with the local fire department.

Were I.Q. tests passed out along with the people with heat exhaustion?

"A country without a Soul is destined for Hell...on Earth."

people were there in (I assume) your experienced estimation? (Great videos, thank you.) I ask because I couldn't get out of work and a friend told me there were two to three thousand, and I trust his judgment. When Vincent Bugliosi, here tonight, mentioned media blackout of his book I reminded folks that media distortion is alive in Richmond re Palin event that has crowd at 20,000 on tv reports but there were only two thousand. I guy heckled me and said there was "baseball diamond times four." Who is closer to correct? Me or the guy I pegged early on as someone who might have been paid to attend?

Sure wish I could have been there with you and Shepherd and others.

we left hours before it started and most people showed up

to protest. Am used to hearing the line Palin used re trying to put down protesters. Usually comes from a self-described liberal-hating republican, not a vice-presidential candidate for the whole United States of America.

People did die for the right to protest. Use it or dishonor the efforts of those people.

Don't want to post again, so I'll just say that I am missing a lot, but caught David's quick critique of the Gallup guy's book and what stuck out for me was the bit about how they don't count or count where it helps the thoughts (non-thoughts?) of the people that don't care. I know it is hard for some people here to believe, but so many people just don't care. Will end with repeal/change of "No Child Left Behind". It wasn't the beginning of apathy among the populace, but looks like nail in coffin. Children need to be educated, not indoctrinated. Rambling, sorry, peace, Rain

This is great, thank you. I'd like to learn more about this project.

Sheep follow sheep to the slaughter; they stand in righteousness, believing their own propaganda.

I have a small tolerance for stupidity. Interviews like these remind me why.

God Bless You, David. I think you got a few of them to actually think!

Why are these people so stupid? Never mind. I know the answer. They parrot what they hear from GOP Talk Radio without doing their own investigation. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic for our country.

I was having a hard time understanding that video. It just seemed odd to see all those people in red shirts walking around in circles.

But then they started talking in circles too, and suddenly it all made sense. That's what clueless people do.

Give the couple talking about lies a blue ribbon for lunacy. You tell a lie, you're going to burn in hell. You point out the truth about Bush's lies, it's a "red herring."

Great job, gentlemen!

Unfiltered Video Commentary:

Congress conspires with Wall Street to bring America to its knees

I found it interesting they were walking around in a circle too. I didn't get that. Were they going to some place? *shrug* But at least the lady in the second video was nice and respectful and had a decent conversation. I wonder if they realized they were wrong about who attacked on 9/11. It seems they knew it wasn't Iraqi's. Maybe they had to keep telling themselves that or something. I dunno. At least you do have one rightwinger who puts his money where his mouth is so I do respect that and I hope the guy comes back okay if he is sent to Iraq or Afghanistan. I've read stories after stories since 2004 of soldiers coming home with major PTSD issues and homeless soldiers and whatnot. He seems to have a mother who is dedicated to him so he probably won't have any money issues hopefully so hopefully if he does go to the mid east and comes back a totally different man his mother is still on his side which is another issue for a lot of soldiers with divorce rates and girlfriends leaving etc. It's just so awful and this is just what we know of with our soldiers and not any Iraqi's or Afghani's. At least she practiced what she preaches about being a Christian and didn't say awful things about Obama and even said some nice things about him. I admit I had the same concerns about Obama (I supported Richardson in the primaries) with experience but he has proven to me he's ready for the job and the challenges that will face him by looking at his policy plans and all that. How could though this woman claim to be "pro-life" and how that's important to her and than support killing of other people? Even if they're literally begging you for their life? Well who knows: maybe when Obama does win, as it seems he's going to, Obama will prove this woman wrong and she and her son will support Obama for his re-election. I hope this guy does stay safe and if he does go to Afghanistan or Iraq he comes back okay.

It is just amazing and scary to think so many people in this country completely drink the Repugnants Kool-Aid. These are the people who end up in Jim Jones Cults, or the Branch Davidians or the lunatics polygamy cult in Texas. They have no concept, no individual thinking capability and simply have no imagination of their own.

My ex wife was this way. Why I ever married such a woman eludes me. Fortunately, my children grew up without getting her inane views and are both voting Obama as I am. It's fortunate that stupidity isn't a genetic mistake.

I don't think one person in the video actually answered a single question and when they spouted 'facts' had no clue how to back them up. And I'd bet my left testicle that the idiot fat guy who said he'd been to Iraq couldn't pick Iraq out on a map, let alone have a passport stamp from there. It's not like lovely Baghdad is a hot tourist destination.

Thanks for the video, it's just pathetic how stupid smart people are.!

i agree that the talk about what god wants is incredible. these bible-thumpers should review the third commandment, "thou shalt not take god's name in vain."

The Third Commandment Stated

The Third Commandment concerns the sanctity of God’s name. We are commanded by God to honor and respect His name: "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain" (Exodus 20:7). "Vain" means empty, useless, false, unreal, and worthless. In short, taking God’s name in vain refers to the abuse, misuse, blasphemy, cursing, or manipulation of the Lord’s name. So, use of God’s name in vain involves:
Trying to use it to advance negative purposes ...

these people who claim to be christians are in violation of their own principles.

it was great to have an opportunity to watch the interview with the mother and son. i hope they benefited from the discussion as well.

in response to those above who were hooting and hollering:

as far out as the christianists went, they didn't stray as far over the line into uncivil discourse as has occurred at other palin events and i think that needs to be acknowledged and praised. the climate in this country cannot be changed overnight. it's going to take work. a lot of people need to be educated on the issues and history.

the thing i like best about senator obama is his understanding that dialogue is the key. we are all served well to follow that principle. i think the interviewer in the above videos did. he never reduced himself to ridiculing the people he talked to. his mother should be proud.

here's the link to the third commandment quote

...why don't we see ANY people of color in this video?

Why don't we see ANY in the video by Brave new Films?

Why didn't I see hardly ANY at the republican convention?

Let's call this what it is people; the "n-word" on video gets people fired from their precious jobs, so they use use the next best thing..."terorist".

(judging from your video, you might like this John. Hunter Thompsons're starting to sound a bit like him)

one black guy there but he was selling stuff

There was like one or two black people there and the producer of the show tried to work them into as many camera angles as they could to make it seem like there was diversity. It was funny. Then they found a hispanic person and all of a sudden the camra angles were all shot from around that guy in the crowd shots. It was sad, but funny in a "we're all doomed" sort of way.

you betcha

it's annoying when Palin says it...'s downright chilling when you do. It's like Donald Sutherland's scream at the end of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"

"You betcha."

Great vid David and Shepherd.
"Who started the war?"
ans. "the Iraqis we already got all these people..and Al Qaeda did it and Obama"
Obama? as in Barack Obama Hussein bin Laden? Given the ignorance, intolerance and hatred of this crowd I'm not surprised there was a plot to assasinate Barack Obama in Denver.

Reporter: Dr. Rice and Secretary Rumsfeld both said yesterday that they have seen no evidence that Iraq had anything to do with September the Eleventh...
Bush: "we have no evidence that Saddam was involved in September the Eleventh"

I lost it when the recruit i.d.'d the Middle East as the country (see the President's exchange w/a reporter below to understand why so many believe the Middle East is the country that did 911 and Iraq, as part of the Middle East, is also responsible).

When his mom said Afghanistan I'd follow with:
Since there were al Qaeda camps there, why did the President move about a billion dollars worth of troops and equipment out of Afghan. to prepare for a war w/Iraq w/o telling or getting Congress's permission per Senator Robert Byrd-WV?

After saying S.Arabia is where most were from ask
Why did the Pres. after 911 allow Saudi royalty to fly out of the US w/o being questioned while American citizens were grounded?

Why did the President retreat, or 'cut and run,' from Saudi Arabia after 911 and abandon the billion dollar Prince Sultan airbase?

Why did the President show Prince Bandar top secret plans to invade Iraq before showing them to his own Secretary of State Colin Powell?

Where was bin Laden born?
..S. Arabia

Where's bin Laden now?
..Pakistan or hell/heaven

Which countries paid the alleged terrorists of 911?
..S. Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Pakistan

Where else did hijackers come from?
..United Arab Emirates-2 Egypt-1 Lebanon-1

Please follow Bugliosi's lead and focus on imminent threat.

WMD is a real red herring given how many countries have nukes and/or biological and chemical weapons that America does not invade and occupy.

Plus the current and past proliferation between the US-India "nukes for mangoes" deal, the US helping to arm Saddam and our support of Iraq vs. Iran-bring the famous Saddam-Rummy handshake photo

Rumsfeld's 1990s stint as Director of ABB a Swiss industrial conglomerate that sold two light water reactors to N. Korea. Plus Cheney in 90s as CEO of Halliburton selling nuke enrichment equipment and a detonator to an Iranian company Oriental Oil Kish.

Bugliosi on imminent threat
I have documentary evidence that when George Bush told the nation on the evening of October 7, 2002 that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat to the security of this country he was telling millions of unsuspecting Americans the exact opposite of what his own CIA had told administration officials just six days earlier in a classified report on October the first that Hussein was not an imminent threat.
On October the 4th the Bush administration put out an unclassified summary version of the classified report so they could give it to Congress and the American people...In this White Paper the conclusion of US intelligence that Saddam Hussein was not an imminent threat to the security of this country was completely deleted. Every single one of these all important words were taken out so Congress and the American people never saw any of this.

One woman said we're not occupying Iraq. Remind her of Bush's 2003 announcement on the USS Lincoln that
"major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq the United States and our allies have prevailed"
"other nations in history have fought in foreign lands and remained to occupy and exploit. Americans, following a battle, want nothing more than to return home and that is your direction tonight"

Notice the kid wearing a black t-shirt listening and getting it. Thanks.

Middle East as a 'country', Iraq & 911
Bush: ...suiciders to kill innocent life who would who had relations with Zarqawi. Imagine what the world would be like with him [Saddam Hussein] in power. The idea is to try to help change the Middle East. Part of the reason we went into Iraq-the main reason we went into Iraq at the time is we thought he had weapons of mass destruction. Turns out he didn't, but he had the capacity to make weapons of mass destruction. But I also talked about the human suffering in Iraq and I also talked the need to advance the freedom agenda. My answer to your question is imagine a world in which Saddam Hussein was there stirring up even more trouble in a part of the world that has so much resentment and so much hatred that people came and killed three thousand of our citizens...the terrorists attacked us and killed three thousand of our citizens before we started the freedom agenda in the Middle East.

Reporter: What did Iraq have to do with the attacks on the World Trade Center?

Bush: "Nothing...except for it's part of and nobody's ever suggested in this administration that Saddam ordered the attacks. Iraq was a-the lessons of Sept. 11th is to take threats before they fully materialize Kent. Nobody's ever suggested that the attacks of Sept. 11th were ordered by Iraq. I have suggested however that resentment and the lack of hope creates a breeding grounds for terrorists willing to use suiciders to kill to reach an objective..."

...she thinks The Lord will decide the election? Oh, help. My sides are splitting.
