Senate Democrats, Republicans Agree on Bailout Vote Tomorrow
By Brian Faler and James Rowley | Bloomberg.com
Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Senate Democrats and Republicans have agreed to hold a vote tomorrow on a $700 billion financial- rescue plan amid evidence voters and lawmakers regretted yesterday's U.S. House vote to kill the bailout.
``This is an important accomplishment and a way forward,'' Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said.
Senators also agreed to include a provision that would raise the limit on federal insurance for bank deposits to $250,000 from the current $100,000, a move demanded by some of the rescue plan's critics.

so now they call it a rescue plan instead of a bailout they realized the truth didn't sound that good, they needed a more positive name for the bill,so they can put one over on us. Call your senators and spread the word.NO to bailout no to rescue. The people that made this mess should sell all that they own and add the profits from their gains to the RESCUE fund. Maybe if we want to be nice let them have one home not more than two hundred thousand and two used cars. Then let them live like the people they want to bail them out.
At last, at long last,
WE THE PEOPLE have actual honest-to-goodness LEVERAGE!
I don't know if this is what "democracy" looks like , because this feels more like POWER , People! Let's use it , not lose it, for the public good of all.
PEOPLE POWER!
From the book, "The Wisdom of Crowds" by James Surowiecki -
"I don't want to underplay the power of the assumptions that underlie our traditional model of decision making. But while trusting the collective judgment of a group may be difficult, it's also smart. What I think we now know is that in the long run, the crowd's judgment is going to give us the best chance of making the right decision, and in the face of that knowledge, traditional notions of power and leadership should begin to pale. I am cautiously hopeful that they will, allowing us to begin to trust individual leadership less and ourselves more."
Will our senators represent us or the 35,000 registered lobbyists on K Street. I'm calling mine tomorrow, what part of NO don't they understand?

Kucinich is right, I want a spreadsheet, not more snakeoil. This calls for cool heads and a calculator, not chickenhawks disguised as chicken littles.
