Palin Warns Against 'Second Holocaust' by Ahmadinejad
ABC News' Imtiyaz Delawala Reports: Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin warned against Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's pursuit of nuclear weapons for a "second holocaust," while blaming "Democrat partisans" for forcing rally organizers to withdraw her invitation to speak before an anti-Iran protest in New York next week.
"John McCain and I are committed to drawing attention to the danger posed by Iran's nuclear program and we will not waver in our commitment," Palin told a crowd of 9,000 supporters in Blaine, MN. "I will continue to call for sustained action to prevent Iranian President Ahmadinejad from getting these weapons that he wants for a second holocaust."
In an interview last week with ABC News' Charles Gibson in Fairbanks, Palin spoke of the need to ensure "that these weapons of mass destruction, that nuclear weapons are not given to those hands of Ahmadinejad, not that he would use them, but that he would allow terrorists to be able to use them."
In her remarks today in Minnesota, Palin also publicly addressed for the first time her canceled appearance at the "Rally to Stop Iran Now" which was originally billed as a joint appearance with Palin and Sen. Hillary Clinton. Planners of the rally yesterday disinvited all political officials from the event after criticism mounted over Palin's invitation to speak at the protest against Ahmadinejad's attendance at the opening of the UN General Assembly next week. In a statement yesterday, rally organizers said the decision to minimize "political personalities" was done in an effort "to keep the focus on Iranian threats and to ensure that this critical message not be obscured."
"Unfortunately, though some Democrat partisans put politics first and now no elected official will be able to appear at that "Stop Iran" rally. Iran's pursuit of these weapons should concern all Americans; this should not be a matter for partisan politics," Palin said.
The McCain campaign released a statement under Sen. McCain’s name yesterday afternoon criticizing the Obama campaign for not participating in the rally.
"We stand shoulder to shoulder with Republicans, Democrats and independents alike to oppose Ahmadinejad's goal of a nuclear armed Iran. Senator Obama's campaign had the opportunity to join us. Senator Obama chose politics rather than the national interest," the statement read.
Sen. Hillary Clinton had agreed weeks ago to attend the event, but backed out of the protest late Tuesday after learning that organizers also invited the Republican vice presidential nominee without informing her.
Organized by American Jewish groups, the "Rally to Stop Iran Now" sent out a media advisory billing the joint appearance in their headline: "SEN. HILLARY CLINTON AND GOV. SARAH PALIN AT “RALLY TO STOP IRAN NOW,” AT UNITED NATIONS, MONDAY, SEPT. 22nd, 11:45 A.M."
Clinton aides were described as "furious" after learning from reporters -- not rally organizers -- of the plan to have Clinton and Palin appear together.
"Her attendance was news to us, and this was never billed to us as a partisan political event," said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines in a statement to reporters on Wednesday. "Senator Clinton will therefore not be attending."

Stay warm this winter in a black hooded sweatshirt. Order one. Order them by the dozen and donate them to occupations!

Somebody should get the straight jacket ready for this crazy red neck. How can anyone take this shit seriously. the people pulling the strings are just fucking with us now. We should not buy into their distractions. However that is all that the Mcbush and O'bush campaigns are giveing us. We must expose the crimes of our entire government,or they need to give us bush, cheney and a few others then straighten out. POWER TO THE PEOPLE chris dorsey
would be perpetrated by a stupid war mongering liar like her.
Iran has not invaded anyone for over 300 years!
come on palin you war mongering bitch. Youl be on the same list as bush cheney rice. I know we shouldnt voice our worrds this way but iran has no hope to hurt anyone. the jews have enough nukes to wipe them off the earth but palin is trying to war stroke evweryone. peace to all. take back OUR country
I don't think war stroking is the kind of stroking male voters seem to be thinking of right now when it comes to her candidacy. I can't believe a "cheap trick" like Palin is actually working for a complete looser like "John" McCain. If it does it's a real pox on them for thinking with the wrong head .... JERK OFF LATER GUYS THIS IS SERIOUS BUISNESS!!
IF the latest poles are even accurate.

Don't think for a minute that Obama will be mush better! Anyone who votes for Obama OR McCain is voting to continue marching this country off a cliff. Support Ralph Nader. Someone has to counter this CRAP! Someone has to run for president knowing FULL WELL he has no chance so that we can begin to dismantle thE corrupt two-party strangle hold on our country. Support Nader precisely BECAUSE he has no chance! It's a nasty job being called "nut job" and "spoiler" but SOMEBODY has to do it!
BTW: Ahmadinejad has no power. Only the supreme leader of Iran has! How come nobody ever mentions this point? I think it's because the fact is not compatible with the propaganda we are all being fed! Iran is NOT A THREAT TO US, WE ARE THE THREAT TO THEM!

A vote for Nader is a vote for Mccain, and the trolls know it. Please do not succumb to this .
The only way WE THE PEOPLE have half a chance is if Mccain loses all the way.
IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC...PNAC is Bush/Cheney's "Helter Skelter" !
NO SPOILERS, PERIOD !!! WE MUST DEFEAT MCCAIN!!!
"A vote for Nader is a vote for Mccain"
This is BULL $HIT designed to TRAP you into voting for business as usual! -- McCain and the Republicans will steal the election anyhow just like they did in 2000 and 2004. Support change. WE MUST DO THIS! There will be no change in this country until the two-party corporate run strangle hold is dismantled. That will not happen until people wise up and stop supporting business-as-usual candidates like McCain and Obama. Unfortunately this will probably happen only AFTER a major disaster like 9/11 or the bankruptcy of our country. Let McCain be president and the disaster will happen sooner rather than later! Sooner is better if it's going to happen at all! Vote Nader and begin the transition. Obama will NOT fix ANYTHING! He is simply the lesser of two evils. I agree that McCain is clearly bad news, but voting for Obama WILL FIX NOTHING! Our march to the disaster will continue! Our country is in MAJOR trouble and neither of the "Republicrats" will fix it!

Calling Ralph Nader a spoiler is a weak cop-out that only enables the unacceptable status quo. Anybody who thinks Barack Obama is the answer to all our problems (or even the beginning of the answer) is either completely clueless, or in a major state of denial about the extremely critical condition of our republic.
In today’s America, a freshman senator like Obama does not get to be his party’s candidate for president without promising to maintain the status quo that is corporate control of our government.
And when John McCain (who was tortured for five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam) stands silent as George W. Bush adds an illegal signing statement to McCain’s anti-torture bill, claiming non-existent authority to ignore it, it’s quite clear that the Republican candidate for president has also sold out to serve his lust for the Oval Office.
Both candidates support the needless, perpetual Middle East conflict that will keep war profiteers laughing all the way to the bank, while innocent blood continues to spill and America goes broke for a pack of lies.
Republicans blame the Democratic majority for the near doubling of gasoline prices since 2006, conveniently ignoring the fact that when they took office with Bush in 2001, gas was about $1.50 per gallon. They also blame democrats for accomplishing nothing since January 2007, ignoring that as of January 2008, only halfway through the 110th Congress, the GOP had already set a record for filibusters.
Democrats blame Republican obstruction for the failure to pass a bill ending our occupation of Iraq, conveniently forgetting that Speaker Pelosi could simply refuse to bring any war-funding bill to the floor for a vote, thereby effectively ending the war and forcing the use of funds already in the pipeline to bring our troops home. Both parties refuse to act on the urgent need for impeachment, despite the mountain of evidence against the Bush administration and the fact that the entire process (impeachment and conviction) could be completed in a single day.
I have said this many times before, and I will continue to say it: "Freedom is not free" is not just sentiment for dead soldiers. It's a reminder that our citizenship comes with the responsibility to remain engaged and hold our elected representatives accountable on an ongoing basis.
Dismissing someone of Ralph Nader's stature as a simple "spoiler," then voting for Obama and crossing your fingers (the exact strategy I have heard many people espouse) doesn't come close to fulfilling that responsibility.
Everyone should take the time to check out OpenDebates.Org. There you will find, in my humble opinion, some of the strongest (if not the strongest) evidence that Democrats and Republicans are really just two factions of the same corporate party, continually colluding to deny viable third party and independent candidates their rightful voice in our electoral process.
Above all, we should not expect overnight success. It took a long time for us to fall to where we are, and it will take a long time and a lot of work for us to get back. As far as what we can do today, I think demanding open debates is as good a place as any to start.

Yep.. The logic is, we must counter McCain with a Democrat because of how Democrats, after gaining control of congress, Started impeachment hearings, Got us out of Iraq buy refunding the occupation and prevented the government from bailing out the predatory lenders and saved the victims from loosing everything.... OOPS! What! They didn't do that. Oh well.. we have GOT to keep voting for them anyhow because they are better then republicans. Or, are they?
Actually, Cardoza says Nader should dress up like a Giant Panda and go to the zoo..
