W and his three W's that broke the American economy

George W Bush did not bust the American economy all by himself. Bush's "three amigos" ( war , Wall Street , and wreckless borrowing ) have been his constant companions to "help" the Great Depression II along.

By now the scenario is clear, we can succumb to our Progressive pipe dream of Third Party politics, or we can vote realistically Democratic in November and save our great land, not merely bail it out.

History has demonstrated that the GOP has the "experience" to bring this nation down to a crashing halt, while the Democrat Party party has as its proven record the ingenuity, fortitude, and commitment to the people to bring America's hope back for ALL Americans .

What is the alternative ? McCainvilles

Cheers!

Yes the repukens broke the ecomony, but I Also blame the democrats as well, this two party system has destroyed this ecomony at the highest level and it's time that both of those parties be kicked out of office.

Thank God Ron Paul's a congressman again, he may have dropped out and lost the race for president of the united states in 2008, but the revolution will be around forever and that revolution now goes to chuck baldwin.

No More Two Party dictatorship.

Smoke pipe after the election.

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC...PNAC is Bush/Cheney's "Helter Skelter" !

Your so supporting one globalist to another

thank god I'm supporting chuck baldwin for POTUS, I Vote for the person and defintely not the party.

Both parties will ruin this country and destroy it completely, both of them are CFR Members and for the new world order

Thank God Ron Paul's a congressman again, he may have dropped out and lost the race for president of the united states in 2008, but the revolution will be around forever and that revolution now goes to chuck baldwin.

Baldwin is not going to win. Obama has spoken at CFR, however he is not a member. Mccain has been the honorary chairman of an offshoot of PNAC, the misnomered Committee for the Liberation of Iraq, and Mccain's advisors are PNAC members. Mccain and Lieberman have been the primary pitchmen for the Iraq War, and both want war with Iran. Obama is against the war, McCain voted for the Iraq Resolution. While not ideal , the Democrat Party is still the lesser of two evils (GOP is the far greater evil, this is obvious, especially to Americans who have lost their jobs and homes). To witness what has taken place in Clinton Admin compared to Bush Admin is much more than just apples and oranges, it is night and day.

Who's Chuck Baldwin? I am sure of one thing, he is more qualified than Sarah Palin, whoever he is.

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC...PNAC is Bush/Cheney's "Helter Skelter" !

When Obama himself was asked, he replied that he "didn't know if he was or wasn't". So how do you know, if Obama himself says he doesn't know?

Clearly, Obama was joking. He must've been asked it more than a thousand times by the conspiracy nuts. If you don't know if you're the member of something , then you're not. This reminds me of the old joke, "How many times do you beat your wife?" Do you know if you're the member of ADS? If you know something , present link evidence.

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC...PNAC is Bush/Cheney's "Helter Skelter" !

... the CFR admission to membership process is long and drawn out. You have to be reccomended by a member and then "vetted". It's a long process. So, either he is or he isn't a member. Like I KNOW I am not a member. He would know whether or not he is a member. So he lied. Period.

Haven't we had enough liars in the White House for one lifetime?

Vote for who you want.

If Obama was a CFR member, you would present proof, but you can't because you have none. Being a presidential candidate is a vetting process in itself, and documentation of such a membership, if true, would have come out 18 months ago at the beginning of the presidential campaigns, as McCain's connections with PNAC spinoff "Committee for Liberation of Iraq" have come out long ago , even BEFORE Mccain ran for the 2008 Presidential Race. Does Mccain's history of warmongering since Vietnam and his lack of economics knowledge not concern you? Your smears against Obama are on the level of emails I get from Mccain-supporters , declaring him "not a natural born citizen of the United States" and falsely stating that he is Muslim.

Chicago Council on Global Affairs, which was the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, before he won the nomination and they figured they should change their name, for SOME reason...

But that is a subsidiary of the Council on Foreign Relations in Chicago. They deal with global policy "education" and they are a massive "pro-free-trade" pro business organization.

http://www.ccfr.org/index.php

so again, this is what Yank does; name calling and misinformation, all in the name of supporting Obama, to save us. Yeah right.

You have proven nothing , but lies, again. CFR is based in NY, and its additional office is in DC.

One of its notable historical members is JOHN MCCAIN, which oddly, you never mention.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_on_Foreign_Relations

"The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is an American nonpartisan foreign policy membership organization founded in 1921 and based at 58 East 68th Street (at Park Avenue) in New York City, with an additional office in Washington, D.C. Many believe it to be the most powerful private organization to influence United States foreign policy.[1] It publishes the bi-monthly journal Foreign Affairs. It has an extensive website, featuring links to its think tank, The David Rockefeller Studies Program, other programs and projects, publications, history, biographies of notable directors and other board members, corporate members, and press releases.[2]"

Then why is every article and speech from the Chicago Council on Glabal Affairs achived at CFR's website and copywrited by CFR?

Here's a speech Obama gave at CCGA from CFR's website.

If any of you want to know the exact kind of Globalist that Obama is, read this.

http://www.cfr.org/publication/13172/remarks_of_senator_barack_obama_to_...

Again, you continue to sidestep the issues that John Mccain is a known historical member of CFR, AND an honorary chairman with Joe Lieberman of a PNAC spinoff that aggressively pitched the Iraq War.

and he and Obama are both pitching the war in afghanistan as well as Pakistan; not to mention Iran and Georgia, and the whole "War on terror" thing.

I mean, Biden headed up the Senate committee that supposedly investigated the evidence of the WMDs and Biden himself didn't allow dissenting voices to testify like Scott Ritter and others at the time...

...because he wanted to go to war with Iraq!

Forget about that, there yanky?

And Biden beats Sarah Stalin hands down for lesser of two evils for Veep, but you prefer greater evil, curiously for some odd reason, when given the choices. And Biden was manipulated by the neocons like all of us , Mccain is an actual member of the neocon instigators.

You do not realize the hopes and dreams of Third Parties is impossible and will not win anything in the White House because a vote for a spoiler is a vote for Mccain? My dream is Dennis Kucinich, but it ain't gonna happen.

This is the real world, we have to work with what we HAVE. But Mccain will turn us into HAVENOTS in a nano-second.

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC...PNAC is Bush/Cheney's "Helter Skelter" !

Again, I have stated that Obama has spoken at CFR, but that he is not a member.

Yet you continue to sidestep and ignore the fact that John Mccain is a known historical member of CFR.

and yakadick is a stupid person, she thinks nobama is gonna save the country, well it makes me so sad and sick.

Both parties are for wall street and support the north american union and the united nations.
Time to kick the U.N. Out of america.

and to me that is sickening and it is also treason.

and you have absolutely nothing to prove that.

The real concern here is that spoilers always lose, and they many times cause the opposition to win. These are dangerous times, not just because of Mccain's volatile warmongering foreign policy, but due to economic failures of this country as well. Real people are losing jobs and homes, we need real solutions in the White House, not more Bush.

"...still the lesser of two evils"

anyone who ever makes this comment without putting it in quotation marks and exposing it as the most pathetic comment ever on voting, is a complete idiot and doesn't know the first thing about what democracy means.

Vote how you want people.

Yank has been gone for awhile now. she used to come in here trying her best to keep people from impeaching becuase she thought it would hurt Obama's chances in Nov.

People like yank are as responsible for what this country has become as Pelosi and the rest of the Blue-Dog dems, and their republican counterparts.

Take all that into consideration whenever she posts here.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to gaslight you into throwing away your vote for spoilers. You have to ask yourself , what is in MY best interests in a true democracy ? A wasted vote actually helps the opposition, and this is about YOUR survival in this tough economy in the real world.
Remember, when you vote you are really voting for YOURSELF. Don't waste it on spoilers.

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC...PNAC is Bush/Cheney's "Helter Skelter" !

PS In response to Willylowman's above tirade , I have been a member of ADS for over three years (experimented with various handles in its very beginnings) and also purchased the book "The Prosecution of George W Bush for Murder" . My absence was merely a sabbatical away from lies about me and his malicious bullying , but I have no intention to leave again ( unless David Swanson deems it so.)

... nice Yank. Sounds kind of like the republicans in 2004.

Notice Yank doesn't deny outright that she was actively working AGAINST impeachment, back when people still thought it had a chance (I still think it does, and we should by the way).

The reason she doesn't deny it, is because we can always just go back to the archives and pull up her comments.

If it wasn't for the misconception that certain "progressives' put out there that impeachment would hurt Obama's chances, these criminals would have been gone a while ago. Their cowardice is responsible for what is going on today.

And everything I said then, and everything I say now, I support with facts. That is why she left; because I exposed that she had been run off another site for doing this exact same thing.

Willy, if you pull up archives, you will find me defending Chairman John Conyers against witch-hunt campaigns of smears and lies. To accuse Chairman John Conyers of not wanting impeachment is like accusing PNAC of not wanting endless war, its a ludicrous premise to present your false arguments. Congressman John Conyers bravely and honestly discussed openly the pros and cons of a failed/or successful impeachment in many forums, and his wise concerns were discounted as "breaking his oath of office", or worse yet, as "traitorous". I was defending the man's judgements of various impeachment scenarios. John Conyers insights are from valid experiences he had that I remember during the Nixon resignation.

Willy, you have an intelligent mind, yet you waste it on malicious endeavors. I am no longer one of your victims (of which you have had quite a few on ADS, I am not the only one).

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC...PNAC is Bush/Cheney's "Helter Skelter" !

... for contempt of congress? He ever follow thru on that? No? Yeah, you're right. Conyers is all about standing up for the constitution at all costs. He's not going along to get along, now is he?

that Conyers stands up for the Constitution AT ALL COSTS. I said he uses his judgement to make calls based on his knowledge and experience. I never called John Conyers "a traitor" either.

These two parties are trying to destroy this country and it makes me totally sick, you think I Would vote obama, Not in my life and mccain sucks too, so he gets none of my vote

Abolish the two party system, both of them are bought and paid for by corporations

I'm sick of the lesser of the two evils, That damn term makes me so goddamn sick.

Thank God Ron Paul's a congressman again, he may have dropped out and lost the race for president of the united states in 2008, but the revolution will be around forever and that revolution now goes to chuck baldwin.

No More Two Party dictatorship.

You would prefer the far greater of two evils during an economic crisis akin to the Great Depression II? Do you really want Mccain at the helm when we are involved in a criminal war (that Mccain approves ) AND approaching economic collapse, both ? Third Parties do win at the local level, at the national level third parties are spoilers.

Forget that! The election will be determined by the party that does the best election tampering. That's the Republicans. That will give us McCain no matter how may people vote for the OTHER lesser of two evils, canceling each other out. STOP IT! Vote for REAL change, or you won't get it. That has got to be a THIRD PARTY candidate.

In Hard Times, Tent Cities Rise Across the Country

Hard Times are Still HOOVERING over us under the Tyranny of the GOP!

Since foreclosure mess, homeless advocates report rise in encampments

RENO, Nev. - A few tents cropped up hard by the railroad tracks, pitched by men left with nowhere to go once the emergency winter shelter closed for the summer.

Then others appeared — people who had lost their jobs to the ailing economy, or newcomers who had moved to Reno for work and discovered no one was hiring.

Within weeks, more than 150 people were living in tents big and small, barely a foot apart in a patch of dirt slated to be a parking lot for a campus of shelters Reno is building for its homeless population. Like many other cities, Reno has found itself with a "tent city" — an encampment of people who had nowhere else to go.

Nearly 61 percent of local and state homeless coalitions say they've experienced a rise in homelessness since the foreclosure crisis began in 2007, according to a report by the National Coalition for the Homeless. The group says the problem has worsened since the report's release in April, with foreclosures mounting, gas and food prices rising and the job market tightening.

"It's clear that poverty and homelessness have increased," said Michael Stoops, acting executive director of the coalition. "The economy is in chaos, we're in an unofficial recession and Americans are worried, from the homeless to the middle class, about their future."

Caught by surprise
The phenomenon of encampments has caught advocacy groups somewhat by surprise, largely because of how quickly they have sprung up.

"What you're seeing is encampments that I haven't seen since the 80s," said Paul Boden, executive director of the Western Regional Advocacy Project, an umbrella group for homeless advocacy organizations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Calif., Portland, Ore. and Seattle.

The relatively tony city of Santa Barbara has given over a parking lot to people who sleep in cars and vans.

The city of Fresno, Calif., is trying to manage several proliferating tent cities, including an encampment where people have made shelters out of scrap wood.

In Portland, Ore., and Seattle, homeless advocacy groups have paired with nonprofits or faith-based groups to manage tent cities as outdoor shelters.

Other cities where tent cities have either appeared or expanded include include Chattanooga, Tenn., San Diego, and Columbus, Ohio.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development recently reported a 12 percent drop in homelessness nationally in two years, from about 754,000 in January 2005 to 666,000 in January 2007. But the 2007 numbers omitted people who previously had been considered homeless — such as those staying with relatives or friends or living in campgrounds or motel rooms for more than a week.

In addition, the housing and economic crisis began soon after HUD's most recent data was compiled.

"The data predates the housing crisis," said Brian Sullivan, a spokesman for HUD. "From the headlines, it might appear that the report is about yesterday. How is the housing situation affecting homelessness? That's a great question. We're still trying to get to that."

In Seattle, which is experiencing a building boom and an influx of affluent professionals in neighborhoods the working class once owned, homeless encampments have been springing up — in remote places to avoid police sweeps."

"MCCAIN-VILLES.

Eric Rauchway brings up a historical parallel I wasn't aware of:

Responding to the collapse of several major investment banks this week, John McCain reassured us, "I think still -- the fundamentals of our economy are strong." That move comes from an old playbook: On Oct. 25, 1929, Herbert Hoover declared, "The fundamental business of the country, that is the production and distribution of commodities, is on a sound and prosperous basis."
Ouch. It's important to note that an aversion to regulation is one of the rare things that's actually older than John McCain. For all his posturing as a sui generis politician, he, like most everyone involved in politics, cannot know about all subjects from all angles and so has fitted himself into an intellectual tradition whose values he likes and whose solutions he broadly agrees with. That tradition is economic conservatism. At times, that may be the right tradition for a president facing the particular array of ills facing the country. It's extremely hard to argue, however, that it's the right tradition for this moment in the economy, when even George W. Bush's Federal Reserve Chairman and Treasury Secretary are having to engineer interventions of unprecedented scale.

McCain may have been an excellent candidate for 2000, and you could even argue he had some real advantages in 2004. But a massive financial crisis brought on by exactly the sort of deregulation he's spent his career advocating is not the sort of moment that he's proven himself suited to managing. This is a guy who has said, proudly, "I'm always for less regulation" and who elevated Phil Gramm -- arguably the politician most responsible for the current crisis -- to a top economic job. This is a guy who, three years ago, wanted to turn Social Security over to Wall Street. It may indeed be that McCain realizes his traditional opinions are unsuited to this moment and will gesture towards some new opinions, but two weeks of rethinking is no substitute for years of engagement with a more appropriate theory of governance. Though the McCain campaign would like to argue otherwise, the presidency is not solely about one person, his character or his honor. President is a big job, and the officeholder tends to fall back on their tradition, intellectual networks, and preexisting policy biases. Changing all that midstream is not easy.

Anybody who thinks the Democrats will bail us out is a total SUCKER! If you want to be realistic you will realize that the Democrats are up to their eyeballs in every aspect of the mess we are in. ONLY "Third Party politics" has any chance of reversing things. The "two-party" system is what is leading us to bankruptcy. It's the PROBLEM, not the SOLUTION!

No More Two Party dictatorship.

W. Bush is a betrayer to the late reagan's legacy and he would be ashamed at what this country has become, because of this insane man

Reagan may have done horrible things, but not nearly as fascist as this monster has done today

Thank god paul craig jones and bruce vein spoke the truth here.

Thank God Ron Paul's a congressman again, he may have dropped out and lost the race for president of the united states in 2008, but the revolution will be around forever and that revolution now goes to chuck baldwin.

No More Two Party dictatorship.

I agree with the no more two party thing, but trying to convince me that Ronald Reagan was an 'acolyte' or 'saint' isn't going to happen today or next week. He was a democrat turncoated into a GOP whore, back before DEMOCRATS started to morph into the slime that most of the GOP has de-evolved back to.

He bankrupted California when he was the governor there, and everything he touched, turned to SHIT.

most would improperly say he ended the 'COLD WAR' but what he did do, was end COLLECTIVE BARGAINING and POWER OF UNIONS in the United States, and started the nation into a spending frenzy that this asshole and now convert, Paul Craig Roberts, still cannot believe was the very beginning of UNPRECEDENTED STAGFLATION for the U.S. on HIS/THEIR watches.

I don't think Reagan would disagree with what's going on, he'd have had to consult with his 'psychic' to get a consensus on anything, and in the end, when they had to 'murder' the former C.I.A. director by 'lobotomy' to 'silence him' (CASEY), it had become painfully clear that George W. Bush was running this nation long before he was elected President.

the only thing Ronnie boy was good at, was SELLING BORAXO HAND SOAP, and that was it...and maybe, his performance in 'BEDTIME FOR BONZO' (most neocons have that in there pedophine collection, hidden in there with gay porn, etc..)

There can no longer be any doubt about which crime family was behind the Operation Northwoods "False Flag" and the murder of president John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

It makes me sick that people are voting for mclame and nobama, they don't give a shit about the middle class nor the american people, just about more money for banks and big corporations, we just got slipped from behind.

Thank God Ron Paul's a congressman again, he may have dropped out and lost the race for president of the united states in 2008, but the revolution will be around forever and that revolution now goes to chuck baldwin.

No More Two Party dictatorship.

I know you all probably know this already, but it doesn't really matter who you are voting for in the first place. Your vote is simply a poll, so unless your in the electoral college quit fighting over who is going to bring this country back from the brink of another depression and start trying to figure out a better system than what we have right now. No matter who goes into office right now, this nation is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better. But just to set the first comment straight..... according to history, wasn't it the democrats who supported slavery and tore this nation in half while REPUBLICAN Lincoln brought it back? I thought everyone who thought slavery was wrong would have thought of that before making that comment. History has proven that both the Democrats and Republicans have had smudges on their records.
