According to Pelosi, Impeachment Proceedings Are “Off the Table”

When California Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi became House Speaker with the election of a Democratic majority in 2006, hopes ran high in some quarters that the feisty grandmother of seven would lead an investigation into the Bush administration’s actions involving the United States in the Iraq War. The evidence accumulated against the Bush administration — that intelligence linking Saddam Hussein’s government with al-Qaeda, alleging that Iraq possessed “weapons of mass destruction,” and warning that Iraq was well on its way to acquiring nukes, may have been cherry-picked or even fabricated — cried out for serious investigation, at very least. Yet once in office, Pelosi and her colleagues backed away from investigating the charges and soon announced that impeachment was “off the table.”
In a recent article in Time magazine, “10 Questions for Nancy Pelosi,” in which the congresswoman answered readers’ queries, Nancy Shipes of Woodstown, New Jersey, asked Pelosi why she had ruled out impeachment proceedings against the president.
Her response? “I took it off the table a long time ago. You can’t talk about impeachment unless you have the facts, and you can’t have the facts unless you have cooperation from the Administration. I think the Republicans would like nothing better than for us to focus on impeachment and take our eye off the ball of a progressive economic agenda.”
In other words, impeachment requires the gathering of evidence from a cooperative executive branch, and since the Bush administration refuses to cooperate, there’s nothing further Congress can do about it. This stunning admission is tantamount to saying that Congress cannot impeach the president without his permission. From the standpoint of Congresswoman Pelosi, the president and his tight-lipped minions are superior in authority to the U.S. Congress, a notion that would have the Founders turning in their graves.

...I cannot remember his name he was sitting near that smug Rabkin, if I remember he was in Congress for a while, Nadler asked him, "If the Executive Branch says they are so untouchable telling people just to ignore subpoenas and such, so we say, We are starting Impeachment Proceedings and they claim they have Executive Privelege, what they did was for this or that, how do you begin Impeachment Proceedings?", the gentleman said to Nadler, "That's your answer, that in itself is an Impeachable offense, that's how we got Nixon.", she is a Speaker of the House, so what? She can say it until the day she does it doesn't make it so.
The House should remove her now. Good riddance to Bad rubbish, Complicit Witch! Nobody in the Judiciary said it was "Off the Table", did they. She cannot overide any decision they come to. If Conyers doesn't forget he used to have a pair, 21 terms and now, look at him.

What I am going to have to archive Time, now to see if Pelosi said this again, because according, and it is on the Judiciary Record from that day, what I said in my 1st comment is the way it is, that's what then becomes the Impeachable Offense.

Nancy Polosi, grandmother of seven, should be hung from the nearest tree, for war crimes. How many grandmothers, and grandfathers, have dead grandchildren, and how many children have dead mothers, and fathers because of this miserable bitch?
Pelosi advertises that she is a mother and grandmother like a badge of honor. The point is she does NOT behave like a mother and grandmother! She is very pompous about other people's children, about whether they should live or die, due to her lack of empathy and compassion for the Peace/Impeach movements that have risen up all over the country. Dick Cheney is a "grandfather" in name only too!

It is obvious that the Vast majority of our Congress is Guilty of Crimes that have to do with this War in Iraq. By bringing Impeachment to the "Table" would end up inditing these criminals. I am really sorry for the surviving relatives of the fallen soldiers that have lost a family member so these heartless criminals could profit from this "Blood Money". How can we "IMPEACH" the whole lot of them? so we can have Justis in this world.

Impeaching Pelosi first would be an admirable first step toward our nation's return to law and justice. If Pelosi is allowed to get away with protecting the world's new war criminals, this fact alone is worth taking Democrats "off the table."
(Sorry Dennis, but you and your esteemed colleagues decide who sits as Speaker to represent your party. Take a tip from Nancy: "Know your power.")
I hate to give any money for that piece of shit rage. But I will do it because the people who are doing the work get to make the decisions. The rest of us need to help in any way we are able.
The Democratic Party intends to ignore the peace and impeachment movement if they can. Too bad the kids aren't out like they were 30 years ago.

I can't believe a pollster will be hired by any of the candidates. A poll sponsored by an independent group, say ADS ;^), is a better bet. You can bet the results would be very newsworthy (read: blackout in the fawning corporate media).
