=== Until WE ALL JUST STOP === (for 5 minutes)
Once before, the world just stopped for a whole city, when on August 6, 1945, the US dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.
Most people around the world (but only 70-80% of US college students we've surveyed) know that the US is the only country that has ever used their nuclear arsenal on another nation, in fact, the civilians of that nation.
George Bush, unfortunately, remains commander in chief, and recklessly threatens a massive strike against Iran, that could well be launched before the next president is even sworn in.
He is again fabricating, while the mainstream media parrots them, the same kinds of lies used to justify the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
None of the activities now unfolding toward this attack will be suspended and reversed if the people do not stand up.
We Pledge: No Attack on Iran!
Bush and Cheney are committing war crimes in Iraq,
We refuse to be silent.
Bush and Cheney are readying another war on Iran,
We refuse to be complicit.
As people of conscience, we declare now:
We will do everything possible to stop a war on Iran.
We pledge to bring business as usual to a halt if the US bombs Iran.
We will draw forward many others to act.
We pledge our resistance now because the world cannot wait. Iraq - Get Out! Iran - Stay Out! Bush / Cheney - Drive Out!
What’s a “Freeze” action?
Participants gather in a public place (transportation hub, park, downtown crossroads) where there are a lot of pedestrians. The interesting element is surprise, drama, and the fact that people walking by wonder what you are doing. They can join in.
At a predetermined time, with a designated signal, they 'freeze' in place for 5 or 10 minutes. No talking, no interaction, just statues frozen in place. A whistle is blown to end the action.
Our experience has been that people spontaneously break into chant, such as 'No Attack on Iran!'
