Kucinich Press Conference Announces Oil for Iraq Liberation Act

By davidswanson - Posted on 30 July 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 30, 2008) -- Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) will hold a press conference on the Oil for Iraq Liberation Act tomorrow morning on the Cannon Terrace.

The Oil for Iraq Liberation bill will prevent U.S. based oil companies from development of and investment in petroleum resources of Iraq.

“Recently we have seen evidence of a concerted effort to pressure the Iraqi government into privatizing Iraqi oil fields against the will of its citizens. We have also heard that certain high level architects of the Iraq war stand to gain financially. This bill will ensure that the Iraqi oil money stays out of the hands of U.S. oil companies who would otherwise benefit from the US attack on and occupation of Iraq.”

The conference will be:

Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. on the Cannon Terrace, intersection of

Independence and New Jersey Avenue

Once again, Thank you, Dennis. You are our true champion. Thank you, Sir.

We know that our attack on and occupation of Iraq was not for their oil. Now we can show it by passing Dennis' law. Sounds good to me. I'll bet Prez Bush is behind it too. Hum . . . well, maybe not.

that there is still enough time to impeach, then why hasn't the general consensus been to start a write-in campaign for Dennis Kucinich?

Obummer is starting to show himself from under the the wrap of "Progressive/Leftist/Peace Candidate" , Nader is not feasible after the 2000 election and too old, McKinney badly chose a running mate and is a loose cannon, Bob Barr is basically an unknown, etc.

I can't imagine ANYONE that speaks more for Progressives and "We The People" than D.K. If we are going to make a dent in the two (one?) party armor, then shotgunning at whoever else there is but the "top two" seems an exercise in futility. Dennis has been ALL OVER Progressive news T.V. and radio; isn't that a helluva forum to pursue Progressive backing of the most Progressive person in government?! Thoughts?
