Though the horrendous criminals in the Bush administration have tried to push their Guantanamo tribunals as the new "Nuremberg," what we witnessed July 25th was the beginning of the "real" parallel to Nuremberg.
Just as the Nazi party demanded "loyalty" from their ranks above all else, and just as they exploited the Reichstag fire to ram through dictatorial legislation, and just as they justified "preventative wars" to ostensibly defend their Fatherland, and just as they used torture and spying on their own as tools to accomplish their dreams of empire, so too has the cult that has hijacked the Republican Party, and unfortunately, infects the Democratic leadership as well.
Like the Allied prosecutors at Nuremberg, the few members of Congress who still defend our Constitution and put "people" before the corrupting nature of "politics" have been given a chance before the world to courageously stand up and expose the crimes enthusiastically promulgated by the world's new Nazis.
Let us hope they succeed. For as Elizabeth Holtzman stated in her testimony, "God help us" if they don't. The very essence of America depends on it. "I mean the country, our Constitution, and our democracy."

I love and admire Mr. Kucinich an Mr. Wexler and all the fine people that are going forward on behalf of 10,000's of citizens that are demanding this and not being heard.
