About 40 Protest Rove Visit To Virginia Beach
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Karl Rove's appearance at a fundraiser for Congresswoman Thelma Drake drew protesters to the Virginia Beach event.
The former White House adviser attended the fundraiser Friday at a local steakhouse while about 40 people gathered outside. Some carried signs reading "Arrest Karl Rove" and "Shame on Thelma Drake."
Earlier this week Democrats called on Drake to cancel the sold-out fund-raiser. They cited Rove's defiance of a congressional subpoena last week.
Drake is a Republican who represents Virginia Beach and parts of Norfolk, Hampton and the Eastern Shore.

Stay warm this winter in a black hooded sweatshirt. Order one. Order them by the dozen and donate them to occupations!

All reporters present allowed Rove to say that it was executive privilege and the constitution that kept him from testifying, knowing that most people including the press apparently, wouldn’t know that the bipartisan committee he was supposed to testify in front of ruled 7 to 1 that Karl Rove doesn’t have executive privilege.
Then Thelma said she chose Rove because he is a great American and Brilliant.
Not one reporter challenged it…I was really disappointed in them.
As a person, I like Thelma Drake; she may claim Karl Rove is a genius? But Thelma wants her cake and eat it too, that is what driven us citizens here in Virginia Beach to action. These facts are uncomplicated, Karl Rove is not a hero; his strategy to out a CIA agent all for political expedience makes him a traitor to his country and he has to be held accountable, if not him, his ‘betters!’
We got to give Thelma her credit; Thelma Drake has made her position known, she going to “dance every dance with the guys who brought her to this prom.” She has decided to either make it to ‘the harbor’ or she'll go down with the ‘GOP ship’.
The title of this article is “About 40 Protest” now accounting for the local conservative demographic, and being this demonstration was at noon during a work day. It is safe to say most attending had to take time off work to be there, I trust we would have been 300+ easy if it was an evening dinner event.
