KUCINICH COMMENTS ON REFERRAL OF IMPEACHMENT RESOLUTION
WASHINGTON (June 11) – Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich released the following statement upon House action today which approved his motion to refer to committee Articles of Impeachment concerning President George Bush. "The sheer volume of the Articles required a referral to provide Members with an opportunity for review," Kucinich said.
"It is now imperative that the Judiciary Committee begin a review of the 35 Articles. I will be providing supporting documentation to the committee so that it can proceed in an orderly manner. The weight of evidence contained in the Articles makes it clear that President Bush violated the Constitution and the US Code as well as International law.
"It is the House's responsibility as a co-equal branch of government to provide an effective check and balance to executive abuse of power. President Bush was principally responsible for directing the United States Armed Forces to attack Iraq," Kucinich said. "The June 5th Senate Intelligence report convinced me it was time to act."
In a report just released, the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Jay Rockefeller, said: "In making the case for war, the Administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when in reality it was unsubstantiated, contradicted, or even non-existent. As a result, the American people were led to believe that the threat from Iraq was much greater than actually existed."
"I believe that there is sufficient evidence in the Articles to support the charge that President Bush allowed, authorized and sanctioned the manipulation of intelligence by those acting under his direction and control, misleading Congress to approve a resolution authorizing the use of force against Iraq. As a result over 4,000 United States soldiers have died in combat in Iraq, with tens of thousands injured, many of them permanently impaired. Over a million innocent Iraqis have perished in a war which was based on lies, a war which will cost the American taxpayers as much as three trillion dollars," Kucinich explained.
"Now it is incumbent for the Judiciary Committee to review the evidence. If it fails to hold any hearings on the resolution within the next thirty days, given the gravity of the charges and the moment, I will once again bring a similar privileged resolution of Impeachment to the House. We must not only create an historical record of the misconduct of the Bush Administration but we must make sure that any future Administration is forewarned about the Constitutionally proscribed limits of executive authority and exercise of power contravening the Constitution," he concluded.

Great. We can in the meantime put some serious pressure on the Democratic Congressmen to at least accept hearings to determine the validity of the charges.
Not only is the White House staff and all its Neo-Cons complicit in all the law breaking, war mongering, innocent slaying, and in general corruption; but so is Congress in most part. These people have known for years what is really going on.
Sure there are some few congress folks that are not a part of what is happening like Mr. D, but in reality the vast majority of them are. Worse, our only way of learning what is really going on (the media) is in on it. Since all the mainstream news outlets are owned by the mega corporations, and since they are profiting from it, what do we really expect?
We lost our government years ago. Yes the current administration has driven the proverbial nail in the coffin, but we have only become so aware of how bad things are because of it.
Imagine being a good congress person, someone shows up in your home at 4am, puts a gun to you and your wifes head and tells you how its gonna be, or you will either be terminated via a accident (suicide, plane or car crash, or heart attack), or you will be destroyed publicly.
Worse, money changes hands, favors are done, and when these folks leave the political arena they have established all the contacts they need to live a very comfortable life anywhere (except maybe the middle east).
Congress, the White House, and all these elected officials answer to no one, and they do not have to. After all what are you going to do about it? Protest, they throw you in jail? Write a letter, it will never get read? 99% of everything is completely ignored in mainstream media, which means it never happened.
Anytime you can at will remove constitutional laws like Impeachment, Habeas Corpis, and institute Torture, and Wars of Aggression, there is no Democracy, and we have no Republic.
I am so very appreciative of all the efforts of everyone who has tried very honorably, and very patriotically to put an end to this madness, but I have known for years that we would come to this.
The reason is simple. Back in the olden days when our laws were formed, it was necessary for politicians to actually represent their constituents. If not, word of mouth spread, and those wild and crazy ancestors of ours put an end real quick to corruption.
Now we have main stream media. In seconds millions of people can be lied to, and quite well I might add. They trust the overall system, they trust those in charge. They do so because in their eyes, there has never been a good reason not to. They go to work, earn money, pay bills, raise a family. Besides its better than other places in the world to live.....
As I have said before in a previous thread, the only peaceful way for this to come to an end is to create new laws that allow the citizens at the lowest levels of government to over rule, and to set aside decisions made by elected officials based upon the good old voting and majority rules.
This means we could actually vote to Impeach. We could vote to bring our troops home, stop the funding, fire or remove any official if we could substantiate that they are not representing their constituents. If the President and VP decide to invade Iran, we could lock them up and throw away the key.
The new laws would give the power back to the people instead of having them at the will of money grubbing, innocent killing, empire building psychopaths.
No one is going to do work to pass these laws of course, and eventually we will be living under martial law.
I feel bad saying this, but if folks cannot see that we are way beyond what we are doing now, then we are truly lost as a nation.
BTW, my nickname "Red Neck Possie", is what I think it will take to actually get something done in this regard.
A Redneck (gun happy, shoot em all, let god sort em out mentality) could form his own Possie, and thereby go into town and clean up the mess we have.
Please understand, I am NOT AN ADVOCATE OF VIOLENCE! It is just that what we are doing is not working. And sooner or later folks are going to get fed up, and having been backed into a corner will take matters into their own hands.
Sad, but that will bring Martial Law, just what the Neo Con's want .......
The most important thing for us to do right now is to stay focused on how we can help Dennis Kucinich prevail in his efforts for this country. I believe the best way we can do that is to call and write our own congressmen, but above all, write The House Judiciary Committee, NOW. Let them know we support this proposition, that Congressmen Kucinich and Wexler are not alone.

I am writing to express my sincere belief that at this time, there is nothing more pressing than proceeding with impeachment proceedings against this president, as Congressman Kucinich has so aptly proposed.
NO other president has abused his office with such blatant disregard for the truth, integrity, and our Constitution. There is ample evidence of egregious lies and wrongdoings, and criminal conduct, for which it is your duty to see to it that he be held accountable. All any of us citizens are asking is that the law be upheld, that you take your oath seriously, and do not allow this president or any of his minions, get away with trampling on our Constitution as well as the intent of the laws of our land.
President Bush and his people are expert in misinformation, manipulation, creation of self-serving laws, continual usurping of our rights and freedoms, backward justification for doing whatever they please, doublespeak, and outright deception and lying.
They have given birth to a cancerous wound in our country that must be dealt with if it is not to spread unspeakably out-of-control, to our eternal shame as well as to our very destruction.
I call upon each of you now to grasp how vital it is to our country's welfare for you to deal with their actions. The longer they are allowed to get away with what actually amounts to murder, the greater the precedent is set that this outrageous untenable conduct will become acceptable. But, surely you realize, it is NOT acceptable, absolutely nothing about it is acceptable, and they must be stopped and held accountable to the full extent of the law.
And now, this job, this restoring of the public trust and of our very nation rests with you. And so, I implore you, Congressmen and women of the Judiciary Committee - this is your reason for being - do your patriotic duty, and rise to the occasion.

Just sent my humble note to the House Judiciary Committee. It's as polite as I can be to them:
Democratic House Speaker Pelosi made herself illegitimate 5 years ago when she signed off on torture. Since she takes her orders from AIPAC her allegiance belongs to a foreign government, Zionist Israeli elements, not America and she throws our money away into Bush's Iraq Black Hole. They will do anything to protect Vice President Cheney and President Bush from accountability and rationalize their criminal behavior because Bush exploits our military to fight illegal proxy wars of aggression for Israeli's Mid East conquest and interests. Where in the world do you stand?
That's the real reason why we have not seen impeachment hearings, because people like Pelosi and Conyers have been obstructing justice, is it not?
Zionists have nothing whatsoever to do with Judaism. Nothing. They have contaminated our communications media (Rupert Murdoch) so badly that anyone who criticizes them is accused of being "anti-Semitic" or "liberal". Americans have been lied to.
These renegade criminals have already murdered over 1 million innocent people, destroyed the rule of law, alienated our allies, put us into unbelievable debt and they still want more.
Russia's military has made it clear that an assault against Iran will be interpreted as an assault against Russia, the retaliation of which will be a epic tragedy for everyone. Our broken military's logistics will likely be cut off from the Gulf of Hormuz and oil prices will surge beyond $200 dollars/barrel overnight.

I was afraid of this. Don't get me wrong - I think it is great to see these charges being put into the record, and of course I do want to send a warning to the Next Administration. But then, by now it should also be obvious just how far our expectations have been lowered.
For Kucinish to say only the above - now, as he launches his follow-through campaign - sends pretty clearly the message he is only doing this to make a grand statement - "For the Record", if you will - with no hope for real consequences. We all know - since it is patently obvious - that what is really needed for America and for the whole world, is substantive, just punishment - befitting the crimes - for Bush, and his accomplices.
Meantime, if you really want to "forewarn" a future administration, then you have to say, now, that we intend to prohibit any recurrence of these crimes by a subsequent Administration.
And if you actually want to prohibit any repetition of these crimes, then now you have to say we intend to erradicate for All Time the possibility for such Treason in the Oval Office.
And if you intend actually to erradicate, for any length of time, such criminal administrations then you need to be saying - now - something along the lines of:
This is but the First Step toward Reconstituting of the Rule of Law and WE WILL NOT REST until we Win the Inevitable, Just Disposition of this Most Heinous Criminal of Our Time, SO HELP US GOD.
Now Good On Ya', Dennis Kucinich - though you have still not repudiated the Traitorous Post-Modern Democratic Party, still you are the only CongressPerson earning his salary today!
