Bush Uses Signing Statement to Announce Refusal to Obey New Military Appropriations Law

By davidswanson - Posted on 02 December 2007

As Charlie Savage reports:

Bush also challenged a new law that limits his ability to transfer funds lawmakers approved for one purpose to start a different program.

Is bombing Iran a program? Is occupying Iraq? Is there any point in Congress approving funds for particular programs (or cutting them off) if Bush can just move them? Is Conyers awake?

this cannot and will not be tolerated. misappropriation of funds is a serious crime on top of the rest this bastard has committed, and it is now time to IMPEACH THIS SON OF A BITCH NOW!

Mr Conyers will be among a handful of honorees at a Dec 15th gala at the DC Convention Center hosted by progressive DC radio station WPFW. Amy Goodman of Democracy Now will be one of the honorees. Maybe at some point during the evening she can check the congressman's pulse.
