Mark Wright's "Clinton ignored terrorism's threats" (Sept. 1 Ozark Voices) is an example of the incredibly irresponsible blame game Republican elected officials are playing.
His convoluted logic places responsibility for the war in Iraq on former President Clinton. His mixed-up references include false claims that "numerous attacks of terrorism ... went unanswered."
On what planet does Rep. Wright live? Where does he get his information?
It has long ago been reported that those responsible for the first World Trade Center bombing, the attack on the USS Cole, etc., have been identified and brought (or are being brought) to justice — peacefully, it should be noted.
It is the current president, George W. Bush, who has not placed a priority on the mission in Afghanistan to apprehend Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaida leader responsible for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
It is President George W. Bush who declared the war on Iraq.
Please, Rep. Wright, get your facts in order. Twisted logic serves no purpose in getting an answer to Cindy Sheehan's question, "For what 'noble purpose' did my son die?"
She, the brave troops, their families, and all Americans deserve straightforward, factual and honest answers.
