Why is this Town Hall meeting so critical now?
With growing momentum and urgency, people across the country are demanding the impeachment of Bush and Cheney, even while the majority of Democrats have ruled it off the table. This Town Hall Meeting is one of a series across the country called by The World Can‚t Wait ˆDrive Out the Bush Regime! and announced in a full page New York Times Ad printed on Friday, June 22nd under the heading 2008 IS TOO LATE! WHAT HARM CAN BUSH DO BEFORE HIS TERM IS UP? He can bomb Iran. He can appoint another Supreme Court Justice. He can continue with impunity the crime of torture. And more.
At this town meeting, featured speakers will lay out the full scope of the dangers posed by the Bush regime, why Bush & Cheney must and can be driven from office before 2008, and will invite people to get organized to make that happen - it is up to us!
The town meetings will introduce the "Declare Yourself - Wear Orange" project which invites everyone that repudiates this regime and feels 2008 is too late to Declare Yourself to each other, to the country, and to the world by wearing orange, and organizing others do so, especially every Friday.
Changing the atmosphere in this country is crucial to closing the wide gap between the millions who want an end to the war and the whole Bush program, but who are not yet acting on their sentiments. Orange means Impeach Bush and Cheney for war crimes and crimes against humanity! No war! No Torture! We will not be silent and complicit.
A single person stepping forward can make a huge difference. Then picture hundreds∑turning to thousands∑then millions, refusing to turn their heads, to sell their souls, to accept endless war in a world without hope. What is now latent must be made manifest until we cannot be ignored, until the world and the war criminals in Washington read the writing on the wall: We are not waiting. We are driving out the Bush regime!
There will be a $5 donation at the door and no one turned away for lack of funds. For further information contact: The World Can't Wait-LA Chapter, 323.462.4771 or firstname.lastname@example.org
