David Rovics just left the stage closing things out under the big tent. He played a song he wrote about Cindy and Casey titled "Every Mother's Son" you can download the song at DavidRovics.com.

Cindy and Ann Wright honored all the volunteers that made this happen ... too many to name here.

Veterans for Peace showed a video of day one which was fitting as we close down camp. You can view the video here.

I will probably blog next from the road...

So now its unimportant that the President speak with her! I thought the entire reason she was camped out like a loon was to get the attention of the President. I am sorry her son died but maybe he went to Iraq to get away from his lunatic mother

You are now the un-informed minority

How unkind. And, just what could Mr. Simpleton Bush say of any relevance anyway. You sound like a Bush supporter. Please sign up and fight in the Iraq war you love. There is a need for more soldiers. Then, the Guard can come home to take care of their cities and loved ones, where they are really needed. You just sign up and get your righty friends to sign up ASAP. Go on now...

Ah, such "clever" ad Hominem attacks on a grieving mother that has the strength and courage to stand up for "Truth."

"Camped out like a loon" and "lunatic mother" . . . priceless gems of compassion, understanding, and tolerance. Makes me "so proud" of my fellow American males. So, should we send her to the "woodshed" to teach her a lesson, force drug her, or just send her to the sanatorium for electro-shock or a good ol' fashion labotomy?

That good ol' Patriarchal Male logic, "If a woman challenges a man, she must be 'crazy'."

"Sailors fighting in the dance hall
Oh man! Look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the Lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?"
- Life on Mars by David Bowie

peace.
