Did your Congressmen, ever loyal to the Executive Branch pass a bill to prevent the Supreme Court from hearing cases on the Pledge?

On September 23, 2004 the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that would prevent the Supreme Court from hearing cases involving the pledge and its recitation and would prevent federal courts from striking the words "under God" from the pledge. The legislation (HR 2028) by Todd Akin, R-Mo., would strip the federal district and appeals courts, and the Supreme Court, of jurisdiction over constitutional challenges to the wording of the Pledge of Allegiance. The House passed the bill, 247-173, Sept. 23, with 34 Democrats joining the majority and six Republicans in the minority.
A growing number of people stand behind Cindy Sheehan and honor her son, Casey’s memory. These people support the troops and their families by asking for someone in the federal government to take notice of this Homegrown in the “Homeland

We used to say that a lot in Texas while he was governor. The only time we saw him as 'gubnor' was when he was urging the Lege in Austin to 'reform' another program that helped the kids, the middle class, and the po' folk (reform meant kill), and we would hear that he had signed another death warrent. Apparently the balance of his time was spent on that famous 'war chest' he used in 2000.

I wish I could make that kind of money on vacation.

Hell, wish I could afford a vaction.
