So says Donald Rumsfeld, assuring us that "my department doesn't do that kind of thing". I notice, however, that he did not say that the U.S. government doesn't do that kind of thing.

As far as this administration is concerned, a presidential directive trumps any law, including international laws and treaties undetaken in the name of the United States of Ameica and its people. Rumsfeld's "department", like the CIA and others, has very clearly demonstated its willingness (even eagerness) to operate on that basis.

War crimes? What war crimes?! If the U.S. President orders it, it can't possibly be a war crime.

In typical NEO CON Patriarchal "Right Man" fashion, 700 Club's Pat Robertson today denies that he ever said anything about assassinating Venezuelan "elected president" Hugo Chavez.

You would think someone that owned their own broadcasting networking would have grasped the concept of "recording and playback" by now.

Must have been those damn liberals tampering with the tape, because
we all know these "Preacher-men" never lie.

"If He came back tomorrow,
well there's somethin' I'd like to know
Could ya tell me,
Would Jesus wear a Rolex on His television show."

peace.

Done and done! Where do the terrorists live again?

Terrorists: With a statement like that, it looks as though we have a terrorist broadcasting on national TV. This man should be brought in for calling for terrorist acts against another nation.

I am writing to demand that the FCC investigate and prosecute Pat Robertson and the Christian Braodcast network for his illegal and outrageous statement declaring that Venezualan president Hugo Chavez should be assassinated. This statement reveals Pat Robertson to be a terrorist and I am further demanding that your findings be turned over to the justice department for further investigation and prosecution of Pat Robertson as a terrorist. Below are the details of mr Robertson's statement:

Dear FCC Broadcast Complaint Officer:

Please consider this my written complaint against ABC Family, The 700 Club, and Pat Robertson regarding statements made by Pat Robertson on "The 700 Club" on Monday, August 22, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Mr. Robertson called for the President of Venezuela to be killed, on a broadcast seen by up to 1 million viewers, a broadcast sponsored by an entity by the name of ABC Family.

My specific inquiry is this: Are private citizens able to use the television airways to publicly call for the assassination of a world leader? Is that legal? If it is legal, is it an appropriate use of broadcasting specifically designated for family viewing? Also, if it is legal, does it apply to all world leaders or is it only certain world leaders which your commission will allow to be threatened and targeted for assassination?

Please let me know if you would like me to provide you quotes by Mr. Robertson on the above-named show.

Please let me know how you would like to confirm receipt of my complaint.

Sarah
