Remarks on the floor of the U.S. House, March 15, 2007

This House cannot avoid its Constitutionally authorized responsibility to restrain the abuse of Executive power.

The Administration has been preparing for an aggressive war against Iran. There is no solid, direct evidence that Iran has the intention of attacking the United States or its allies.

The US is a signatory to the UN Charter, a constituent treaty among the nations of the world. Article II, Section 4 of the UN Charter states, "all members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. . ." Even the threat of a war of aggression is illegal.

Article VI of the US Constitution makes such treaties the Supreme Law of the Land. This Administration, has openly threatened aggression against Iran in violation of the US Constitution and the UN Charter.

This week the House Appropriations committee removed language from the Iraq war funding bill requiring the Administration, under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 of the Constitution, to seek permission before it launched an attack against Iran.

Since war with Iran is an option of this Administration and since such war is patently illegal, then impeachment may well be the only remedy which remains to stop a war of aggression against Iran.

Dito Iraq War; so what are you waiting for Dennis?

It is time that Bush and Chaney are called to task for their lying and cheating to get their illegal invation of a soverign nation. It was also unjustified. Impeach NOW!

This is why we need to elect him President. No other Presidential Candidate has voted against war. Obama voted twice last year AGAINST bringing the troops home and voted for all the war/occupation funding. Edwards, Clinton, Biden and Dodd all voted for the war with Iraq and have voted for funding the occupation. Richardson has spoken in favor of the Iraq war. All candidates except Dennis have spoken in support of war with Iran. We need to elect Dennis Kucinich President if America is to live in peace.

If Pelosi doesn't have the courage to lead on the impeachment issue, she should step down and support Dennis for Speaker of the House.

I could not have said it better. I hope more folks see Dennis for who he is. IMHO he is a visionary who can, with a little bit of help, pull this country out of the morass the right wingnuts threw her into.

And yes, Pelosi should step down. As it is, she just straddles the fence, not knowing which side to step down onto. But it seems like she's leaning dangerously to the right.

Dennis is the only one with guts!.....I personally know a few other progressives who I am sure agree with him,but it ain't easy to buck the tide,particularly when you are a freshman in D.C....As regards Pelosi,she said right from the beginning that impeachment was off the table,and I am still wondering why?....Did she feel that people would view her as participating in a power grab,because if impeachment took place,Bush and Cheney should both go,and then bingo,that would make her prez...I could see that she might be concerned that folks would accuse her of going for the top,but otherwise,she will probably just be business as usual.I am a woman,but I don't think that we achieve anything to have a woman in a high position who just goes along with the rest and conducts business as usual.

Kucinich has officially dropped out of the 9/11 truth movement to move on so he won't get my vote in 2008 and worse he wants to abolish the death penalty

I'm a fiscal conserative and I Support the death penalty, yes they need to bring our troops home that's main priority, but voting for kucinich in 2008, would be a big mistake.

A snake would be better than what we have in office now. Kucinich would be awesome! He stands heads above the rest on every issue. He is an American, he is for bringing people together, not forcing them apart. Don't be blinded by single issues, look at the whole picture.

To me, Dennis Kucinich is the best on offer. If a voter rejects him because he doen't like to give up sending poor people to the gas chamber, well then it is easy to see that voter as part of the problem. (When's the last time a rich man got the needle?) Our collective willingness to kill astounds me.

Funny how your concern for "bringing the troops home" morphed into a political position concerning the race for 2008. It is amazing how republocrats make that happen and sell it to the masses, NO?

Bringing the troops home is NOT a campaign stance. It is a stance about truth and justice, a human rights cause and a moral issue. NO?

You don't go to the polls today, you go in 20 months. Lets focus on the priorities and let the sell outs waste their campaign dollars on loosing.

Although I'm not voting for kucinich in 2008, He deserves a round of applause for calling for the impeachment of this current adminstration.

And I'm not the only conserative who calls for the impeachment of this adminstration.

Paul Craig Roberts, treasure secetary of ronald reagan is also calling for the impeachment of this adminstration, he spoke the truth.

The Bush adminstration will be armaggeddon if they don't get impeached.

And although I'm not fan of joe biden, he really is pissed here.

Dennis has always spoken truth to power. What's to say that he won't bring articles of impeachment? He is telling it like it is and I am proud of him. I hope all of you who support him will share him and this with your friends. Four years ago I worked on his campaign, and felt maybe America wasn't ready for a spiritual man of strength as President, but I think perhaps now we are! If you believe he is right, but not sure he can get enough votes, just think that all the people who believe in him will cause him to be elected IF THEY VOTE FOR HIM!!!

I note, with disturbingly familiar disappointment, that you artfully dance around any statement that YOU WILL INITIATE impeachment proceedings, Representative! Here you've laid out the major offenses, the legal justification and ethical imperative - all things EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS - without actually COMMITTING TO PURSUE impeachment.

It is not we who need to hear your "educational" message, but vice-versa. If you want to exhort somebody else to action, let me suggest you GET TO WORK ON YOUR COLLEAGUES in the House. In fact, whyn't you have your staff just DRAFT SOME ARTICLES of impeachment for their convenience?

Don't screw around with us any longer. If you have any doubt about what WE, THE PEOPLE require of you, we will disabuse you of it this SATURDAY, sir.

ain't gonna cut it. Although Rep. Kucinich's words were great, they sounded way too much like "sound bytes" designed to placate and pacify an increasingly infuriated electorate, with no commitment to pursue impeachment.

Once again, Rep. Kucinich managed to dance around the primary issue of drafting and presenting Articles of Impeachment against Dick Cheney and G.W. Bush, and his stance as a supposed "anti-war" politician is looking less and less convincing. Sure, he laid out the major offenses, the legal justification and ethical imperative for impeachment, but that was it.

We ALREADY knew what was going on even before Rep. Kucinich spoke, but what remedy did he offer to stop thes ecrimes from continuing to be committed? NONE! Is it little wonder that people in other countries wonder what's wrong with us, because we continue to enable this administration to commit horrific crimes again and again and let them get away with it?

Nothing else was forthcoming about him pursuing articles of impeachment, which leads me to believe that Rep. Kucinich, like his other Democratic colleagues, are too busy looking forward to the 2008 "beauty pageant" elections (and the lucrative corporate/wealthy individual campaign contributions which come with it), and he's more than willing to allow the electoral clock to run out on Cheney and G.W., which is the strategy which they were hoping for.

If Rep. Kucinich was serious about being an "anti-war" politician, he would have announced that he was going to initiate articles of impeachment AFTER he finished his speech. Instead, all we got was more hot air from another do-nothing politician who'd rather let the electoral clock run out on the crimes of Cheney and G.W. than to actually get up and fight for principle and justice by making an effort to drafting some articles of impeachment, at least.

We, the People, know what's required of him and his colleagues, and I look forward to this Saturday, when it's made crystal-clear to him and other Democrats and Republicans, that We, the People, have grown tired of waiting, and we're coming to D.C. to DEMAND that Congress do its' Constitutional duty to impeach, indict, convict and imprison Cheney and G.W. for multiple crimes committed against the American people, the Iraqi people and all of humanity.

No more talk about impeachment. This administration has already broken the law. Now either impeach him or shut up! It is now PAST time for action. Dennis Kucinich us just another bought and paid for Democrat not really willing to stand behind his words.

As for the 2008 election, I have serious doubt that our country will still be here by that time. The North American Union is already in the works and the economy is about to implode. The monetary crash that began when congress delegated their Constitutional authority to the Federal Reserve (a private banking cartel), in 1913 is now in the end game. When the dollar finally utters its last gasp and falls through the floor, the sheeple will welcome the North American Union and its planned currency, the Amero. Goodbye Constitution.

If by some miracle, we actually do have an election in 2008, my vote is going to Dr. Ron Paul, the only man on capital hill who actually believes in and defends the Constitution. Of course, the mainstream press never mentions him but you can check him out here:

Ah yes, Ron Paul, the Libertarian candidate now a republican. Don't kid yourself, the Libertarians have never managed above 1% of the national vote. Even the Greens do better than that. Paul makes sense on some issues, but would reduce government power to the point of leaving us all at the (non-existent) mercy of corporations. I used to be a registered Libertarian until I started getting their literature and discovered just how nuts they could be on many issues.

We all need to be wearing out our Congressmen, phone calls and emails, letters to newspapers and magazines. Impeachment is the only way Americans are gonna send a message to these goons. Its obvious all they care about is their corporate buddies..

Denny the K: Since Pelosi's is straddling the table where the Bush IMPEACHMENT should be; it's time for you and Conyers to move it back ON, instead.

Dennis Kucinich has been on the money all along. I am proud that he's out there telling it like it is. He has always done so. It's time America pays attention to him. He has my support all the way. Impeachment is the only action that can restore any faith in our system. The entire world is watching us, and, believe me, they are not happy with what they see. We used to be looked up to, but all that has been squandered. And, I don't blame them. This administration has bankrupted our moral reputation. Impeachment would begin to restore our commitment to decency. Impeachment is absolutely necessary. America needs to understand that the soul of America is at stake here. Make no mistake about it.

Dennis Kucinich is always on the Presidentia-bid back burner. Little press covrage, yet everything he says goes beyond other candidates
jargon and waffling. His stance is righteous like Ross Pero. Pero won like no other 3rd party candidate because he presented over and over, facts, charts, and very clear messages. I'm not suggesting Kucinich is a third party candidate,but who we need now is this kind of searching truth and action without fear of not being a clone.
Demand law not lies. Not being a clone to this shadow government, may mean more than a fair debate...more war and killing is all they want! Take care of yourself Dennis or you may end up like the plane during 9ll that was electronically shot down by our own patrols
AFTER they were wresting the controls away from Saudie'terrorists.
Take care of yourself as you gain may be shot in the face like Cheney's lawyer, or die in an unexplained plane accident like Wellstone, or have a car accident on a lonely Texas road like the Texan woman-journalist (I forget her name) or like one of the some 2l microbiologists who have been killed with no explanations. Do everything you can to save our country...but be very careful and plan ahead.
