Actually, the focus needs to be even wider than that. We need to be very careful that we don't let ourselves get too absorbed in EITHER of the "celebrities" involved in this particular issue.

Like many others, I applaud Cindy Sheehan's campaign in Crawford. It is highly gratifying to see her doing so well in her quest for answers to her questions. But her effort must be understood as just one battle (albeit a very important one) in a much bigger war. We cannot allow Bush to become a single scapegoat. The larger issues are much more threatening to all of us than is he and his presidency alone.

At the moment, the AIPAC-PNAC agitation (mainly via Cheney) against Iran is probably the most worrisome. It's a very scary threat indeed, and it is global in scope. More details here.
