Mr. Speaker:
I come before this body today as a proud American and as a servant of the American people, sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Throughout my tenure, I’ve always tried to speak the truth. It’s that commitment that brings me here today.

We have a President who has misgoverned and a Congress that has refused to hold him accountable. It is a grave situation and I believe the stakes for our country are high.

No American is above the law, and if we allow a President to violate, at the most basic and fundamental level, the trust of the people and then continue to govern, without a process for holding him accountable—what does that say about our commitment to the truth? To the Constitution? To our democracy?

The trust of the American people has been broken. And a process must be undertaken to repair this trust. This process must begin with honesty and accountability.

Leading up to our invasion of Iraq, the American people supported this Administration’s actions because they believed in our President. They believed he was acting in good faith. They believed that American laws and American values would be respected. That in the weightiness of everything being considered, two values were rock solid—trust and truth.

From mushroom clouds to African yellow cake to aluminum tubes, the American people and this Congress were not presented the facts, but rather were presented a string of untruths, to justify the invasion of Iraq.
President Bush, along with Vice President Cheney and then-National Security Advisor Rice, portrayed to the Congress and to the American people that Iraq represented an imminent threat, culminating with President Bush’s claim that Iraq was six months away from developing a nuclear weapon. Having used false fear to buy consent—the President then took our country to war.

This has grave consequences for the health of our democracy, for our standing with our allies, and most of all, for the lives of our men and women in the military and their families—who have been asked to make sacrifices—including the ultimate sacrifice—to keep us safe.

Just as we expect our leaders to be truthful, we expect them to abide by the law and respect our courts and judges. Here again, the President failed the American people.

When President Bush signed an executive order authorizing unlawful spying on American citizens, he circumvented the courts, the law, and he violated the separation of powers provided by the Constitution. Once the program was revealed, he then tried to hide the scope of his offense from the American people by making contradictory, untrue statements.

President George W. Bush has failed to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States; he has failed to ensure that senior members of his administration do the same; and he has betrayed the trust of the American people.

With a heavy heart and in the deepest spirit of patriotism, I exercise my duty and responsibility to speak truthfully about what is before us. To shy away from this responsibility would be easier. But I have not been one to travel the easy road. I believe in this country, and in the power of our democracy. I feel the steely conviction of one who will not let the country I love descend into shame; for the fabric of our democracy is at stake.

Some will call this a partisan vendetta, others will say this is an unimportant distraction to the plans of the incoming Congress. But this is not about political gamesmanship.

I am not willing to put any political party before my principles.

This, instead, is about beginning the long road back to regaining the high standards of truth and democracy upon which our great country was founded.

Mr. Speaker:

Under the standards set by the United States Constitution, President Bush—along with Vice President Cheney, and Secretary of State Rice—should be subject to the process of impeachment, and I have filed H. Res. _ in the House of Representatives.

To my fellow Americans, as I leave this Congress, it is in your hands—to hold your representatives accountable, and to show those with the courage to stand for what is right, that they do not stand alone.

Thank you, Representative Cynthia McKinney. You are eloquent, and right on target. The United States of America needs to come clean. One way to generate real momentum behind your impeachment initiative is for citizens at large (and en masse) to write Speaker-to-be Pelosi and House Leader-to-be Hoyer. This is an HISTORICAL OBLIGATION that Congress now has to the American People in order to ensure that the Bush Administration is held accountable for all the reckless actions that have been FALSELY justified as "American" policies.

I, like most American citizens, am severely offended and disenfranchised by these last SIX years of power abuse, and I believe, as I demonstrated through my recent voting actions, that Congress owes THE WORLD thorough and credible IMPEACHMENT investigations followed swiftly by unambiguous IMPEACHMENT proceedings.

It is your MORAL OBLIGATION as the Leadership Party to ensure that this New 2007 America can come clean from all the deceptions and power abuses perpetrated by the Bush/Cheney Administration and their accomplice Republican Congress.

Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has introduced articles of impeachment against George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Condoleezza Rice. In doing so, she alone has spoken for the 51 percent of Americans who Newsweek says want Bush impeached. Read McKinney's remarks.

McKinney charges that Bush, Cheney, and Rice manipulated intelligence and lied to justify war, and that Bush has engaged in illegal domestic spying. The former charge has been extremely well documented, and the latter proudly confessed to. The former charge was central to the concern of those who included impeachment in the U.S. Constitution. The latter charge is one of openly violating a law that was established in response to President Richard Nixon's impeachable offenses.

Sunday, December 10th, is Human Rights Day, the 58th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a document that lays out, in 30 short articles, rights that every human should have protected. Eleven out of the 30 have clearly been violated in the United States by President Bush and his administration, rights including:

Article 5: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

Article 6: Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.

Article 9: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.

Article 12: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence….

This Human Rights Day, many of us have worked to organize rallies for impeachment all over the country. They will now also be rallies to honor and thank Cynthia McKinney.

Cyntha McKinney's statement may be considered by many people as courageous. Yet it is hardly the minimum one would expect from a person who swears on trust and truth as she does.

This remarkable person does not mention even in one word the determination of the Bush administration to prevent a criminal investigation and an independent official inquiry of the greatest mass murder in US history, that of 11 September 2001. She does not mention that the US administration has bombed Afghanistan and killed over 3,000 innocent Afghanis on flimsy grounds. The FBI admitted in June 2006 to possess no "hard evidence" linking Osama bin Laden to the events of 9/11. There are many reasons to suspect the US administration for having facilitated or orchestrated the crime of 9/11. And even if George W. Bush had not personally participated in these crimes, he has wilfully covered-up the truth and shielded the criminals from impeachment and prosecution.

For the above reasons, I see no reason to jubilate or applaud her trust. Cynthia McKinney's impeachment statement her come late, is inadequate and is misleading through its serious omissions. The future of America lies with you.

Cyntha McKinney is my patriot by anyone's measure.

Check the FBI wanted poster for OBL and you will find it doesn't mention 9/11/01 at all. I am not defending OBL but if there was evidence it would be mentioned.

Cynthia McKinney is my hero! I am so excited about her wonderfully courageous stand - and outraged that she was not allowed to read her statement on the House floor. Although she didn't address 911 or the massacre of of innocent Afghanis -- which I agree are crucial -- she has opened the door to those issues, too. She has opened a blessed Pandora's Box. I intend to do my part to help her get the support she so much deserves.

US Rep. Cynthia McKinney today became the first US Congresswoman to introduce Articles of Impeachment against President Bush, as well as Vice President Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

It would take this great Black Woman to stand up where no others will do what is right for this country . They all know without a doubt that Bush, Chaney and Condi need to be Impeached and now they want to act like it is too much work to do.

A great thanks go out to Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney for standing up in defense of the constitution as she has always done.

If you all recall, Cynthia McKinney was the first one to come out on Bushs illegal conduct into the invasion of Iraq. Had we paid attention to her in the first place we would still have our children alive and the people of Iraq would not be in the terrible shape they now find themselves in.

Say what ever you like about this woman she understands that you have to step on feet to get the point and message out clearly, but she also understands that there is a price to pay for doing just that

She is absolutely right about George W Bush and if the powers that be would in fact do there jobs, it would be without question of weather or not he should be Impeached, as he has a track record of very questionable conduct along with VP Chaney and Ms. Condelessa Rice.

They have all willfully lied and distorted the facts that lead us into this illegal war.

I would and I am going further in that I believe they should all stand trial for various constitutional violations after the investigations that are sure to provide even more evidence of wrong doing.

These people are just like anyone else that have violated the laws in this country and if the truth be known they are worst because they are people all Americans should be looking up too and following the example of, people we put our trust and faith in that have been seriously violated.

I have the perfect remedy for all of those with a problem with there constitutional duties . Pretend that Bush, Chaney and Condi were all Black, and have done what they have done to this country.

That should make the work real easy for all concerned to do there jobs and move the hell on.

I thank God everyday for the Cynthia McKinney's of the world because these people know that there is a price to pay to call it like it is and are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice

I don't know ho you are. Just caught this message surfing. I have a few things to say about your thoughts. First, wherever the thought that this is an "illegal war" came from needs to be sent back and stuck back up the butt where it was it was retrieved from in the first place. Everyone knows that the United States is the police force of the world, if you didn't know this, you might want to wake up and look around in the world, so therefore if the US did not do anything about Afghanistan and Iraq, the previous condition of global terrorism would have worsened and only God knows what actual condition we would be living in right now. Second the talk about impeachment, if we are really serious about impeaching anyone, why was Bill Clinton not impeached after his episode? Why is anyone so willing to put that family back into the White House with all the criticsm from conspiracies? Why would we as Americans put ourselves in the position to ourselves up for more moral degredation? And finally, your statement about picturing everone is black, why do that? Is that not futher promoting what everyone has tried to squash? Why would we give blacks, whites, hispanics, muslims, etc. more fuel to the fire of racial diversity in segregation? Do we not see that the more we pamper a peticular race the more steps we take backward toward the way things used to be? The statement is very cliche but can't we all just get along and live a life that is based on values just as our originating fathers did?

What can one say? She is 100% correct in her assessment. To dither and be distracted from this most important task is a vote against the democratic traditions and principles upon which this nation was founded.

If we hold our democracy to be of importance, we have no more pressing need than to follow through with seeking impeachment. The rule of law is supreme, and no one is above it. Actions produce results, like the wheel of the ox cart follows the path of the hoof. This president and his admnistration has set out on a course of action that had produced dire consequences on the health and well-being of our nation. Thus, we must hold him and his minions responsible, letting the wheel of consequences follow the hoof of action. It is the patriotic choice, the choice purely predicated upon love of country at its highest. The question is what will you do to raise the commotion and din to bring this great need to the ears of all Americans? Sone will chastise you, some will call you traitor. But knowing our cause is just, we must pick up the gantlet and wage battle on those who have waged war on our Constitution.

David Shayler ...But that's not the most amazing insight that Shayler has. Even more than this is how 911 was a failed operation. Failed? But it was perfect! The buildings came down!

Yes... but we didn't see the entire game. It's been staring us in the face all this time but it took a brilliant mind with inside information (access to the most classified of intelligence documents) to piece it together. Shayler really is that intelligent. Spend 5 minutes with him and you will see what I mean.

Well, the end game was this: Flight 93 was to land on the Whitehouse. You see, under US law at the time, if that happened, it would be martial law in the US and under those conditions, the entire 911 plot could have been completely tidied up, all the evidence buried. We would not be able to have the 911 truth movement today. Anyone claiming that it was an inside job would be so far out on the extremes of conspiracy theory that they would never be taken seriously and certainly must less of the material available today would have been available to the truth movement.

Now we KNOW that this was planned (martial law) because on the 10th Nov 2001 it had been put in the MSM! There were articles published to the American people about how martial law could be enacted in the event of the US government (Washington DC) being attacked directly. So the US population was actually PRIMED for that.

Not only that, but the antrax attacks DID attack the US government, only it was too late then to declare martial law so Plan B didn't bail them out either. And worse, the antrax was traced by the FBI to US laboratories where on a few select personnel had access to it so it was undeniably and inside job. Which is why the headlines claiming that the anthrax was Iraqi played enough to imprint the mantra in the population's minds, then the entire anthrax hoax was made to quietly and quickly disappear.

So what went wrong?

The shooting down of 93 was a renegade action by a true American hero officer and the pilot that did the deed. The order to shoot down WAS NOT GIVEN. I.e. The inaction was there to guarantee the Whitehouse would be hit. Instead of the lies in the movie "United 93", the real hero of 911 was indeed associated with flight 93 coming down but it was not some fictious all American man in the street blued eyed boys. The real hero remains unknown. Anonymous. Denied. The real hero was the officer that saw the no-shoot as a NORAD botch and did his job and had that aircraft shot down.

The entire planet owes that man its thanks. I wonder if he even lived through the day? They may well have shot him on sight.

Now, I haven't researched this but I am willing to bet good money that if you go back in the news archives, you will find that NONE of the important people were in the Whitehouse on 911. You may even find Bush opponents WERE in the Whitehouse that day!

Not only that, but as Shayler points out, Jeb Bush jumped the gun. He declared martial law too soon in Florida. There was no reason for that declaration and it's one of those key facts that the 911 truth movement has missed. It's key fact for prosecuting as conspiracy to the murders, Jeb Bush as well as the usual suspects in the Administration. It's the smoking gun against Jeb Bush being an insider.

But the "failure" in NORAD and the other points of control, i.e. the things that were meant to allow 93 to hit the Whitehouse were undone by a quick thinking officer who ordered the plane to be taken down. 93 was, to use Shayler's term, a key failure in the plot. A cockup that, to quote Shayler "they simply didn't expect or plan for this".

When you realise this truth, suddenly many of the loose ends click into place. Suddenly, so much makes sense. So many of the Bush "incompetancies" are shown to be not incompetance, but quickstepping out a contingency. The inept neoCon scrambling and bumbling of the invasion is suddenly very clearly a group of well rehearsed, well disciplined, well planned people wrongfooted by the most unexpected of cockups.

Flight 93 is where 911 went wrong for them. And one of the reasons that the propaganda around that plane was in overdrive. United 93 the film, the stories of the heros, the only "black box that survived"... all these were disctractions. Very clever distractions. You see, by keeping the "was is shot down" debate going as an initial catch point for the sheep backed up by the "how come the mobile phones worked?" as the catch point for those not fooled by the first catch point, no-one got thinking about the actual flight itself and the key role it played. No-one has been thinking about the possibility that it was a monumental cockup that the plotters simply hadn't accounted for. No-one has been thinking "what if it had reached its target, what would have happened?". And that's clever human manipulation for you. That's really clever brains thinking at high speed to bail out of a catastrophe.

But 93 went badly wrong for the plotters. Because it gave that little window of opportunity for the truth movement to see the faults in the story, see the holes in the evidence and start to question the official line. Martial law was meant to ensure that no questions could be asked, no evidence could survive and no-one would have the time to ask because of what was meant to immediately follow. The sequence of events would have been so swift that we would be focussed now on the fallout of the WMD use that was almost certainly in the plan. 911 would be a minor footnote that no-one would be interested in by now.

Had 93 reached "mission complete". Had martial law been declared, complete control over the media, release of information and the cleanup (getting rid of the evidence) would have happened and bingo! The entire 911 plot would have played out and the world right now would have been a completely different place. Iran, Syria, Iraq, North Korea, Afghanistan probably would have had nuclear weapons used against them to simply "solve the problem". With the US government "wiped out", no-one would have either held the Bush crowd accoutable nor have the ability to even if they tried.

Which explains another anomally about the plot: How the neoCons so totally screwed up the invasions without an exit strategy. The visible evidence being the mess that Iraq is in with the US having its butt kicked.

See, they never needed an exit strategy because they were never going to invade the way that they were forced to. That was NOT the plan. The plan was to use the overwhelming force of American super weapons in quick, lethal blows that the world would have had to stand by and accept because the US government itself would have been directly attacked, possibly with key opponents to the WH wiped out as part of the deal. Who would stop the US? Indeed, who would even BLAME the US?

Their original plan was perfect. It was a good plan. I was a perfect plan.

There was no need to plant a passport. There was no need to explain 911. If you don't explain then there are no holes in the story because there simply is no story. Your cover is perfect. No 911 commission, no NIST scrambling to prove the impossible, no questions about WTC7. Nothing to attack the neoCon agenda with because no accountability given because under martial law, the US government would be unassailable.

And that also explains those massive FEMA detention camps that GLP was so hyped up about many years ago. We were all mystified as to why they were being built. Now it's clear! Even under martial law there would have been those who didn't agree with the neoCons. Those detention camps would have been filled with these dissidents.

Sit back and think of all the odd behaviour that has puzzled us about the BushCo. How they seem to have wrongfooted themselves all the time. And think about how things would have been different in 93 had hit its target. It all makes perfect sense.

Behind the scenes there must have been frantic redrawing of plans. Years and years of careful, step by step detail was trashed when that missile hit 93. And because of that, errors were made. And because of THAT, we have the truth movement and the very real chance to expose this hoax and nail the guilty party.

Which could be why Bush bought into Paraguay.

Also, look at where Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, Bremer and all the other PNAC players were on the day. Look at their actions. In the light of what was EXPECTED to happen, it all makes sense. Perfect, perfect sense.

This is a startling revelation by Shayler and an absolute lynchpin in understanding 911 and what has followed. It explains so much, ties up so many loose ends and just fits the picture so well, even down to the reactions of the people involved, that it really is the only credible missing piece.

And more still, it's clear that the recycling deal must have been planned months before for the steel shipments from the 911 demolition. All that rund perfectly. But rather than it being a secret kept "for security reasons" away from any public knowledge for decades to come, maybe even centuries, it's now in the open. And one more item to point at the guilty parties with.

For me personally, it's the effectiveness of the psyops of 93 that gets me. How the diversion has worked so extremely well, How the realisation of how 911 was actually a massive cockup simply hasn't featured anywhere up until now.

That makes me shake my head in admiration for the brains that pulled it together. Real professionals. Nasty, evil, but so very clever.

Let's help the Congresswoman re: "No American is above the Law".

I agree with a lot...but her comments only adds to myth of people being under some kind of control of the imposters in the Federal Legislative branch or Bush's democracy.

The more accurate statement is this: "No employee of government--especially those who take an oath--are above the Supreme Law for Government (Constitution) or its derived statutory law."

So why won't you hear one of those usurpers in COngress or Bushy boy mention this? BECAUSE IT EXPLAINS THE LIMITATIONS OF THEIR POWER TOO !! They don't want you knowing this because then you might even challenge them. But its a message you SHOULD teach your children to enable them to be FREE.

Let me exaplain. The Constitution is the Supreme Law for Government...not law for "we the People". This document only mentions the People at the very beginning...and that mention establishes that the people dictated this Constituion for the purposes of making something more perfect. THat something is the Union of NATION state governments. Its a document that limits the federal government in power and makes requirements for the state governments to abide by if they want to be part of the Union. That is all! Government limitations....not people limitations...not American people limitations.

So if the Constituion is SUPREME LAW FOR GOVERNMENT....then what is all the law they make? Yep....more law for government! Why? Because only government needs governing as the long train of abuses that led to people declaring themselves INDEPENDENT of government proved.

Oh don't don't have lawlessness as "we the People" (a) on average conduct themselves well and (b) have laws common with people. {THe latter have been tried to be destroyed by LEgislators and LAWYERS thruout the last 200 years....yet they can't as its the backbone.} two laws....LAW FOR GOVERNMENT (statutory law)...and LAW FOR PEOPLE.

SO when Bush does the Nazi thing...what law does he violate? Yep...LAW FOR GOVERNMENT....which he takes an oath to uphold and for which he can be held accountable.

Simple now? See how easy that is?

By the way...the People in the states have a REPUBLIC....not a Democracy. THe only Democracy exists in the TERRITORIES...not the states. THe territories are "under EXCLSUIVE jurisdition of COngress" and include Wash DC, Guam, Puerto RIco, military bases within states, Federal COurthouses within states....and ...drum roll please....GUANTANAMO [aka torture land]. So where would you want to live? In the REPUBLIC where you are free...or the DEMOCRACY land George is making the world safe for himself on?

President George W. Bush's brand of conservatism is something completely foreign to traditional norms. He has outspent even the most liberal administrations. He has led the nation into undeclared foreign wars under false pretenses. He has bloated the size and scope of the federal government like no president since Franklin D. Roosevelt. He has consistently promoted "civil unions" for homosexuals. He has increased federal funding for abortion providers at home and abroad. In addition, over the objections of a Republican-controlled Congress, Bush even supported the Clinton gun ban.

However, it is President Bush's preoccupation with turning America into a total surveillance society that separates his administration from any and all others. Before this administration, no conservative president had endorsed the concept of turning the United States into the fulfillment of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, but that is exactly what G.W. Bush is attempting to do.

Under the rubric of fighting terrorism, President Bush has done more to strip the American people of constitutionally-protected freedoms than any administration since Abraham Lincoln. The latest example of Bush's tyrannical tendencies comes in the form of his most recent "signing statement." And please understand that President Bush has issued more "signing statements" than any president in history. In fact, before President Reagan, there was a total of only 75 "signing statements" by all previous administrations. Then, Presidents Reagan, George H.W. After signing a postal reform bill called H.R. 6407, the "Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act," President Bush issued a "signing statement" that declared his (Bush's) right to open the private mail of American citizens without a judge's warrant.

According to the New York Daily News, "That claim is contrary to existing law and contradicted the bill he had just signed, say experts who have reviewed it."

The News continues by saying, "Experts said the new powers could be easily abused and used to vacuum up large amounts of mail.

"'The [Bush] signing statement claims authority to open domestic mail without a warrant, and that would be new and quite alarming,' said Kate Martin, director of the Center for National Security Studies in Washington."

Furthermore, a career senior U.S. official who reviewed the legal underpinnings of Bush's claim said, "You have to be concerned. It takes Executive Branch authority beyond anything we've ever known."

President Bush's decision to grant himself the power to open private mail without a warrant is similar to what he has done in the recent past.
Remember that Bush recently said he had the authority to perform warrantless eavesdropping on the American people.

A total surveillance society is something that Americans heretofore understood to be completely contrary to the principles of liberty. Such a society was reserved for Marxist or Nazi regimes, and was repugnant to all true Americans. No More. President Bush has taken the concept of a surveillance society into the mainstream of America's public life and culture. Sadder still is the fact that there is only a handful of people that seem worried about it, and none of these are conservative Christian leaders.

Since G.W. Bush became president, the American people have lost their Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Amendment protections. Their phone calls, emails, and even private discussions can be (and are) monitored by federal police agencies without court order. Beyond that, virtually all of their major banking transactions are constantly monitored, as well as their travel and shopping activities.

The Republican Party has demonstrated that it has no inclination to oppose Bush's New World Order, that is for sure. For one thing, the GOP always was, and still is, the party of Big Business. And just who do you think is getting all the high-dollar federal contracts to do all this national snooping? You bet. The GOP's Big Business buddies.

The national conservative Christian leaders have likewise demonstrated a total disregard for Bush's push for an Orwellian society. After all, they have been too busy enjoying the perks and benefits of sitting at the king's table. Plus, they don't have to worry about being the target of Bush's secret police stings. They are part of the "inner circle," don't you know?

That brings it down to the Democrats. What will Nancy Pelosi and company do to slow down this emerging police state juggernaut? Probably not much. She has made reference to the need to restore constitutional safeguards to Washington politics. But we have heard that kind of talk before, haven't we?
The track record of the Democratic Party is hardly reassuring. After all, this is the same bunch that took delight in trashing the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

In the end, it always comes down to "we the people." Until America's local pastors, local sheriffs, local and state elected officers, and local and state judges begin standing up to this out-of-control federal monstrosity, the slippery slide into fascism will continue. Aw, shucks! I just remembered that most of those people are also on the federal take. Therefore, a return to traditional conservatism is just about out of the question.

Then again, we could do something revolutionary, such as casting aside both major political parties, and start supporting true constitutionalists for a real change in America. The skeleton for such a movement already exists in the form of the Constitution Party. Here is their web site:

One thing is for sure and for certain: we don't need any more "conservatives" like George W. Bush.

You had me all the way up until you cited The Constitution Party. Go to the web site and read the platform; in particular read the Preamble. After the very first sentence you will see that this is a group bent on incorporating Christianity into government. Didn't you just get done lambasting the Christian leaders for sitting at the king's table? Don't recite all the other issues and their reasoning, the fact is the Constitution Party shamelessly promotes their religion and sees government as a tool to that end.

I offer that most of the secular ideals held by the Constitution Party are shared by the Libertarian Party which demands the strict seperataion of religion and government. I recommend them as an alternative.
