Support Cindy Sheehan! Troops Out of Iraq Now!

Friday, August 12, 2005 at 5 PM Powell Street BART (Powell and Market Streets), San Francisco

Last week, Gold Star Families for Peace co-founder Cindy Sheehan traveled to Crawford, Texas to pay a visit to George Bush at his vacation ranch. Cindy's son Casey was killed in action in Iraq on April 4th, 2004. Cindy is currently camped on the side of a road a few miles from the ranch and plans to stay until Bush "tells me why my son died in Iraq. I've got the whole month of August off, and so does he." Cindy has been informed that and her companions could be arrested as they would reportedly be considered a "national security threat" due to their encampment a few miles from the ranch.

Initiated by Not in Our Name. Supported and endorsed by CodePink, Global Exchange, Veterans for Peace (SF Bay Area Ch. 69), Courage to Resist, Bay Area United Against War, College Not Combat, Refuse & Resist!, ANSWER Coalition (SF Bay Area), World Can't Wait Campaign, the Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors, and United for Peace and Justice (SF Bay Area).

Now is the time for the women of this country to stand up together and demand that the rich oil barons in the white house answer for the lives of our sons and daughters.
We all know that Bush and Cheney and Rove have their own agenda for propagating war in the Middle East and it has more to do with controling the world's oil than stopping terrorism. They have promoted terror and fear in this country with their bogus terror alerts since they stole the presidency. Their greed is beyond belief, and there is nothing sacred enough to stop them. They twist the sacred to make it fit their evil agenda. They do not respect the sanctity of life, or the environment, or the laws of this country, or the Constitution. C'mon, Women! Let's go stand beside Cindy and demand that the truth is told.

While I can support your grief and your right to protest, I cannot support your beliefs in this war, or in our president.
