Cindy Exposes the Emperor's New Clothes

The Huffington Post

Some have compared Cindy Sheehan to Rosa Parks, and I certainly agree. But
Cindy also powerfully reminds me of the little child in Hans Christian Andersen's famous story, The Emperor's New Suit.

We all know the emperor in the story went on parade with no clothes, yet none of his subjects would point out the obvious until a small child finally blurted it out.

But we forget how the emperor got into his self-deluded predicament.

One day two swindlers came to this city; they made people believe that they were weavers, and declared they could manufacture the finest cloth to be imagined. Their colours and patterns, they said, were not only exceptionally beautiful, but the clothes made of their material possessed the wonderful quality of being invisible to any man who was unfit for his office or unpardonably stupid.

The fashion-conscious emperor was enchanted with the idea of a beautiful cloth with magical powers, and ordered a suit to be made. During the production process, he sent courtiers to see the cloth and report back on their progress.

None could see it, since there was no cloth. But they did not want to be seen as either unfit for their office or unpardonably stupid, so they reported on the glories of the cloth. And so it went through the outfitting and parade, until the child finally declared the truth.

Bush behaves like an emperor, and he demands emperor-like treatment from his aides, fellow Republicans, political reporters, and even the people of the U.S. and the world.

Bush's War in Iraq, like the emperor's new clothes, is a naked fraud. If we didn't know that before, we certainly learned it on May 1, when the Sunday Times of London published the Downing Street Minutes. And each day's death toll is a fresh reminder of the fraud.

Nevertheless, Bush's courtiers insist that the War in Iraq is a "noble cause," and so Bush keeps pretending that it is.

Cindy Sheehan refuses to pretend. She demands to know "what noble cause?"

And her simple question exposes Bush as the utterly naked Emperor that he is.

So she knows King Stupid is no prince.

So did the child in the fairytale......
This is a PERFECT allegory for this
character that is the American Pretend-ident.

I was just making an allegory out of the allegory. "King Stupid is no prince">Get it? Sorry, I went out on a limb with that one> ;O). I've pointed out Emperors New Clothes in other websites after DSM came out. Cindy is perfect for this, as the most truthful person in the whole story.

Also, I compared Karl Rove to Rumpelstilskin , the mean ugly little man who "spun" straw into gold for the future queen as long as she promised him her first-born. Not knowing she would be queen or have children, she promised. And he came back and demanded her first child, unless she could guess his name . The name of the mean little ugly man who spins to take away Americans' kids is >>>Turd Blossom.

Once, on Congressman John Conyers blogs , a young Mom was so upset because she did not know how to explain our own Presidents lies and cruelty to other nations people for the sake of oil and money and power. I recommended fairy tales because they ARE true, just on a child's level so they can handle it. This looks like a pretty neat site:

Why does the press pay little or no attention to this story? You can agree with her, or think she is crazy, but either way, this should be a big story on TV news. Much larger than the standard feel good tid bit about the lost dog who came home, or whatever it might be tonight.

Unfit for office and unpardonably stupid. Says it all, eh?

Have you noticed he is referred to as The President unlike his father was President Bush, others President Clinton etc... sorta like The Emperor... The fraud started with Reagan and the Republicans know they can get away with it... its all in the image ... no substance. The President has no clothes...he is a coward, who can't face a mother publicly that lost her son... This is not a good image. She may ask embarassing questions... She is too articulate and not a trained politically correct politician... The President may make a mis statement for all to see. The day of awakening for the Republicans is fast approaching...most democrats already are aware that their party is in shatters... they are not as deluded.
