This is the end of the road. A politican can endure all kinds of opposition and criticism, but once the world starts laughing at you, you might as well hop into the coffin and get ready for the funeral.

It'll be interesting to watch his erstwhile "friends and supporters" running for the hills to put some distance between themselves and this object of mockery.
