Are U.S. soliders being killed by their own armor and weapons?
Once again I'm extremely proud of my hometown newspaper, the Daytona Beach News-Journal, for its courageous reporting and editorials. Today, in its "Memorial Day Weekend" Sunday edition, the News-Journal ran a bold, full front-page story taking on the issue of the harmful effects to our soldiers serving in Iraq from the U.S. Military's use of Depleted Uranium there. Looking at the quality and depth of the report, its feature story on the local soldier who lost his life due to cancers his family attributes to exposure to D.U. from his service in Iraq, and its supporting graphics, interviews and sub-reports, it's not difficult to tell that the reporter Audrey Parente put a heck of a lot of work into her report. Audrey Parente's telephone number at the Daytona Beach News-Journal is (386) 681-2497 and her email is firstname.lastname@example.org, should anyone want to reach her. Below is the link to the on-line edition of the story.
