"Syrian army, backed by jets, launches assault on Homs - Yahoo! News" is good news.

"Three German aid workers missing in Northern Syria for 45 days likely kidnapped - THE DAILY STAR".  It's clearly enough not the Syrian Army that's holding these aid workers, and let's hope that they're safe.  The FSA hasn't been at all friendly towards civilians, certainly not Syrian ones anyway.  See the Russian-made documentary at my YouTube channel, mikecorbeil. It's entitled, "Notes from Syria".  If the subtitles aren't to your liking, which is most very possible, then check the text provided with the video. There's an update note at the end, providing a link for another copy of the film but with subtitles of a better size.  This film will show its viewers how the FSA thinks of civilians.  The FSA also has tried to shoot down civilian commercial airliners and there're video clips made by them and published at YouTube.  These FSA fighters aren't true rebels, since most of them aren't even Syrian and, therefore, have no grounds for rebelling against the Syrian government, but they're indoctrinated, brainwahsed, .....  They take orders from their sheikh or sheikhs.  In the video clips of them trying to shoot down a civilian airliner, they're all gun-ho, but then a couple realize that it's a civilian aircraft and start questionning whether to fire at it at all. They dufusly had to ask their sheikh what to do and he said that it didn't matter what kind of aeroplane it was, just shoot it down. So, they then started firing at the airliner using what I guess is an anti-aircraft gun.

"VIDEO: Confessions of foreign salafi militants captured in Syria by SAA - YouTube" :  The audio is lacking. There's a little blip, say, at the very beginning and then dead silence; only showing subtitles. Other videos with audio play as they should, but not this one. The audio shouldn't be eliminated, for it permits people who know English and the language that's spoken in this video to be able to see if the subtitles are correct. There's no good reason to cut the audio.  Doing that can leave people with an impression that the video is suspect.  This is very unfortunate for a video that's over a half hour long, for no one can independently verify if the subtitles are correct, or not.  We can choose to believe that the subtitles are true to what these militants say in this piece, but I wouldn't waste my time with it since no one can verify the translation.

Brzezinski: I can’t engage either in psychoanalysis or any kind of historical revisionism. He (Obama) obviously has a difficult problem on his hands, and there is a mysterious aspect to all of this. Just consider the timing. In late 2011 there are outbreaks in Syria produced by a drought and abetted by two well-known autocracies in the Middle East: Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He all of a sudden announces that Assad has to go — without, apparently, any real preparation for making that happen. Then in the spring of 2012, the election year here, the CIA under General Petraeus, according to The New York Times of March 24th of this year, a very revealing article, mounts a large-scale effort to assist the Qataris and the Saudis and link them somehow with the Turks in that effort. Was this a strategic position? Why did we all of a sudden decide that Syria had to be destabilized and its government overthrown?

So, Brzezinski is saying that Washington is responsible for the conflict in Syria, and that, btw, is a crime.  It essentially is yet again US-lead war of aggression, aka war against peace.

... Then in the latter part of 2012, especially after the elections, the tide of conflict turns somewhat against the rebels. And it becomes clear that not all of those rebels are all that “democratic.”

So what.  Since when does Washington and its "masters" care about democracy? Not over the past several decades.

... In Afghanistan I think we knew that Pakistan might be a problem, but we had to do it because of 9/11.

Wrong!  Taliban had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks and they apparently were among the dozen or more governments that forewarned Washington that attacks were being planned. The Taliban were in control of the Afghan central government, Washington never alleged that they were responsible for 9/11, Washington claimed that war on Afghanistan was justified because the Taliban refused to hand over Usama(h) bin Laden, who Washington claimed, within hours and, therefore, without investigation, was responsible for 9/11, Washington lied, the Taliban had offered to hand over bin Laden on the condition that sufficient preliminary proof that he was or might be guity was provided, Washington refused, saying the US wouldn't negotiate with terrorists, Washington is leader in terrorism, the Taliban weren't being blamed for 9/11, bin Laden was interviewed a number of times in September 2001 about the 9/11 attacks and Washington's allegations that he was responsible, he clearly denied responsibility, active or else former counter-terrorism experts said that this was very surprising if bin Laden was responsible, and so on.

There never was justification for waging war against the Taliban and Afghanistan.  The "War on Terrorism" was started based on many lies from Washington, which received many forewarnings and not only did nothing to prevent the attacks, it made sure that the attacks would happen.  Washington IS responsible for 9/11, which most very likely was another US-driven false flag attack to be used as a pretext for launching a series of wars for global dominance, oil, ....

Brzezinski clearly prefers to skip the relevant and critically important details.

Heilbrunn: You mentioned in an interview, I believe on MSNBC, the prospect of an international conference. Do you think that’s still a viable approach, that America should be pushing much more urgently to draw in China, Russia and other powers to reach some kind of peaceful end to this civil war?

It isn't a civil war.  Most of the so-called rebels, the FSA, aren't even Syrian.

Brzezinski's reply to the question is bogus.  It's criminal and it isn't for the US to decide what politically happens in Syria.  That is up to the Syrian people, which excludes the FSA.

He's a war criminal and guilty of other crimes against humanity.  It's interesting to see what such a sick individual can pretend to righteously say.  His crimes are of a sort that there's no statute of limitations for being able to indict, prosecute and convict him to a long "vacation" in prison.
