Is the Obama Administration Guilty of a War Crime?

By davidswanson - Posted on 01 September 2010

Of course it's guilty of many, but Daphne Eviatar has in mind one in particular:

On Saturday, the New York Times reported that administration officials are "alarmed" by the military commission case of Omar Khadr, the Canadian citizen seized as a 15-year-old by U.S. forces in Afghanistan who's now spent a third of his life in the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay. Trying an alleged child soldier based largely on confessions he made after being threatened with gang-rape and murder is not the case the Obama administration had hoped to showcase in its first military commission trial.

But the argument in a new paper published today by Loyola Law School professor David Glazier should give the administration even more cause for alarm. Glazier, an expert on international law and the laws of armed conflict, argues that the military commission trial of Omar Khadr is itself a war crime.

US, then they are succeeding on an international scale!

Most people know about "victor's justice" and telling of history, today, so US elites are only helping to cement this reality-based view of the US. It's always been true of the US, but mo is definitely not welcome. These people, who only [pretend] to be our political leaders, representatives, have made themselves extremely obvious in their devious ways; but they're not really devious if we are of sufficient moral heart, mind, and pay sufficient attention to all of the [stupid], dumb-animal-stupid things these so-called leaders do and say.

They are of organized crime of the highest level and it really is very obvious. They go after other organized crime groups only when it is strategically convenient, for distractions.

Omar Khadr is innocent and that would be true even if he had not been of minor age when he supposedly did what the clown US leadership alleges. [Everyone] has a or the universal right to defense, and that is all he would have been doing.

NO one has a right to commit aggression, which is all the US and west do and have been doing for centuries.

It's a sick joke worthy of slapping these s.o.b. so-called leaders upside their beanies. They evidently don't have heads, but they have some beanie thing atop their shoulders.

I hope that whoever the hell elected these bastards to political office finally wakes up, or that these voters walk over the edge of once upon a time flat Earth. That flatness would be convenient, today. I don't need to read the whole article to know that the "trial of Omar Khadr is itself a war crime". It very obviously is a war crime. It's clearly of "victor's justice", so-called. And I won't consider Hell victor, regardless of all if its games of deception that our so-called political representatves wish to take part in playing (against us).

But Jesus said to pray for enemies, so while I'm chomping on my words of condemnation for these criminal politicians, I'll try to refrain from saying that they should all burn in Hell. It's quite a challenge though. What Jesus said sounds possibly easy, but it isn't; definitely not.

I'd like to do it my way, but he was right. Chomp, chomp; on the words of anger. Like some people write, ARGH! Roar!

U.S. political leadership is a SICK JOKE! It's incredible that they stupidly think that we are more stupid than they are. Many voters might still be that stupid or malevolant, but most people, internationally, have been seeing through the smokescreens and lies of US political "leaders" for years and it's Americans who have been taking forever to wake up to [reality].

I'm American, but born of immigrant and non-Anglo-Saxaphone family, which makes me one of the privileged Americans, those who learned as of young childhood that "American Dream" is perverted BS. There is no such thing as AD, but many Americans suffer from ADD. Their Attention Deficit Disorder prevents them from being able to see reality for what it really is, and this leads them into the American Dream disorder. So they doubly suffer from ADD.
