Are you ready to march for peace with new allies, new strength, and the same determination that has kept us out of Iran, that has reduced the War on Iraq, and that will bring U.S. occupying forces out of 150 more countries before we're finished?

I'm not sure about Iran, but believe it's certainly questionable that American anti-war organizations and demonstrations have been the cause of war not being launched on that country. And it was always questionable or doubtful that war would be launched on Iran, which is why I never treated the verbal and political stage show bs, threats, big talk, et cetera, seriously.

The wars on Iraq and Afghanistan being awfully real and clearly supremely criminal would tend to create a lot of fear in people; and many people who many readers respect always treating the threat as if it was extremely serious would just help to make the fear take form all the more seriously or intensely. But I never gave these fears much credibility in terms of the threat of war against Iran being really serious. I didn't think it was and have been proven right so far; after having had this view for a few years, now. Sure, I voiced my opposition to these threats and condemned the criminal politicking, but never really believed that the threat was serious; not very, anyway.

And creating that kind of fear in Americans could be a way to strategically weaken them on the wars on Iraq and Afghanistan by dividing our attention over more frightening issues or extreme crimes, if they were to happen.

It is possible for evil human "leaders" to still commit war against Iran, sure; but some high-ranking U.S. military commanders clearly opposed doing this while the U.S. was already heavily tied up with its wars on Iraq and Afghanistan. And I don't think their voices are negligible, but these commanders didn't speak this way because of us. Their words were more of the order of the U.S. militarily not being able to take on all three countries at the same time, especially when attacking Iran would turn even more of the greater region there into a huge war zone that would be extremely dangerous for the U.S. and surely its allies.

Re. the Iraq War

It's not reduced by much. Like one or more U.S. military commanders and possibly other U.S. government officials have said, 50,000 U.S. troops in Iraq (what remains of it) is still a strong force. Add to that the thousands of more experienced and deadly private mercenary forces, including the many additional ones who'll be sent to Iraq, which has become violent again over this summer and again this week.

We don't see articles about the reality that Iraq presently is here at AfterDowningStreet.org and probably many other American alternative websites, but Uruknet certainly has had them and will have more. Jason Ditz of antiwar.com has apparently been doing some good writings about this, as well.

I read over the past year that one experienced mercenary "soldier" is capable of what would require at least a few U.S. military soldiers, so for every one of the 50,000+ U.S. troops remaining in Iraq, calculate the total force as at least triple, for every mercenary who's there and will be sent there. If recalling correctly, then "triple" is not only conservative, it's an underestimation of their expertise and abilities to serve in war zones without becoming PTSD'd to any debilitating extent; although, it takes debiles (putting in extremely mild terms) to accept to provide such "service".

And there evidently are "special forces" soldiers there that we're not usually informed about. Even Canada apparently sent some of its special forces, JTF2, to Iraq, while Canadians and everyone else have been kept ignorant of this. From the little I've read about it, the JTF2 is secretly deployed in many countries for military (and therefore corporatist) special ops.

U.S. news media, including [most] "alternative" ones, don't tell us much at all about the reality or realities in Iraq, and we should realize this by now. Some tell us a considerable amount, but still not everything important we should be informed about.

U.S. troops aren't staying on US bases:

Nominal numbers of regular U.S. troops in Iraq has been reduced, but they're only one foreign group participating in the aggression there. And those who are there now are definitely not staying on the criminally established U.S. bases there. They've been going around with puppet regime Iraqi forces killing innocent civilians. They've cold-bloodedly killed and shot at Fallujans very recently for no reason that could ever hold up in any real court of law.

The war there is [not] over.

But, I definitely hope the demonstration on October 2nd in DC will be very large, strong, and successful. I can't join, but definitely wish everyone involved great success with this event.

This post is definitely not for frightening people out of attending the important demonstration in DC on October 2nd or any other important anti-war and pro-rights demonstrations, for the following news is not something to cause flight. Instead, it must move people to join in a real stand against criminal, rogue government practices and politics.

"Claiming “material support of terrorism”
FBI raids homes of antiwar activists"

The FBI has confirmed that it carried out at least eight raids on the homes and offices of antiwar activists in Minneapolis and Chicago at 7 a.m. on Friday.

The FBI claimed to the seeking "evidence relating to activities concerning support of terrorism." Though no arrests were made in the raids, subpoenas were issued to those targeted ordering them to appear before a Chicago grand jury on October 12. Federal agents confiscated computers and cell phones, in addition to thousands of documents, books, and letters.

There are as yet unconfirmed reports that other raids also took place in Michigan and North Carolina.

The raids, carried out under the auspices of the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), are a transparent attempt to intimidate political opponents of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. They come on the heels of a Justice Department inspector general’s report revealing massive police infiltration and spying on antiwar groups and other political dissenters in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. (See: "Report whitewashes FBI political spying")

Among the groups evidently targeted are the Twin Cities Anti-War Committee, Students for a Democratic Society, Colombia Action Network, the Palestine Solidarity Group, the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, and possibly the Arab-American Action Network.

The FBI admitted the targeted individuals posed no danger and said it did not intend at this point to make arrests. "These were search warrants only," said FBI agent Steve Warfield in Minneapolis. "We’re not anticipating any arrests at this time. They’re seeking evidence relating to activities concerning the material support of terrorism... There’s no imminent threat to the community."

One of six warrants issued for raids in Minneapolis was used to invade the home of Mick Kelly, who said agents kicked his door down and entered with guns drawn Friday morning. The warrant cited as its rationale Kelly’s ability to "pay for his own travel" to Columbia and Palestine, positing possible links to "foreign terrorist organizations including but not limited to FARC, PFLP, and Hezbollah."

(snip)

The political nature of the raids was barely concealed. The warrant to raid Kelly’s home specifically cited his membership in a group calling itself socialist, the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO). Signed by US Magistrate Judge Susan Nelson at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, it allowed the FBI to take "documents, files, books, photographs, videos, souvenirs, war relics, notebooks, address books, diaries, journals, maps, or other evidence, including evidence in electronic form relating to Kelly’s travels to and from and presence and activities in Minnesota and other foreign countries, to which Kelly has traveled as part of his work for FRSO," according to an attorney representing Kelly.

(snip) Kelly said he was "absolutely not" involved in any illegal activities.

(snip) Jessica Sundin, whose apartment was also invaded, described what took place. (snip)

The raids in Minnesota appeared to focus primarily on an organization called the Minnesota Anti-War Committee and its "opposition to US military aid to Colombia and Israel, as well as its opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan," according to the AP. Numerous witnesses said that the office of the Anti-War Committee was also raided by the FBI.

(snip)

"I’m really profoundly troubled by [the raids]," attorney Bruce Nestor told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "Overwhelmingly they’re people who are doing public political organizing, so I think it’s shocking to have heavily armed federal agents show up at their homes."

(snip)

The article, "Report whitewashes FBI political spying", was by Patrick Martin on Sept. 22nd.

The entire anti-war movement has to support the activists targetted by the FBI. Therefore, this is a very important time to get out and march.

And, its essential that the message of support for the activists is a key component now of this march. Bring your own signs of support for these activists. Bring signs calling for the end of the FBI raids. Make sure your voice is heard.

And ... make your voice heard in Nov. as well. Obama is sending his FBI to kick in our doors. That means we absolutely can not vote Democrat in NOV.

Protest these raids by Obama's FBI by REFUSE TO VOTE DEMOCRAT in Nov.

I will come walk the halls of Congress to try to talk some sense there. It is hard work as baby Bush said. On Saturday I will be walking for farm animals to raise funds to help the farm animal ambassadors at Farm Sanctuary's farms in New York and California.

Billions of farm animals are raised and killed every year under the most horrible conditions. Many of them are over drugged and sick when they die. That is what people who eat dead animal carcasses are eating.

I don't mean to bring up other issues, but I will be there for the animals and, hopefully, will be able to join in the march for One America at peace with itself and the rest of the world.

You're probably better off getting a whole new Congress.

We have that chance in Nov. If we simply defeated every incumbent, then that would send a powerful message to the career politicians. On the surface, the next congress may not look better. But it would come to office knowing if it repeated the mistakes of this congress that it would be gone in two years as well.

And, in many districts there are alternative candidates, almost all of whom oppose these wars, on the ballot. Votes for them will send a very powerful signal. Especially if the majorities who oppose these wars and support civil liberties all voted together. Polls say we are the majority. We could win some races.

But, even if we can't do that. Then simply turning every incumbent out of this Congress would go a long, long way.

60-70% of Americans oppose these wars. Now, Obama is sending his FBI to kick in our doors. Isn't it time for this majority to assert itself.

This congress won't listen to you unless you are carrying around $10,000 checks. If we all kick them to the curb, there's a chance that the next one might at least pretend to listen to you.

A Washington, DC where many incumbents who thought they were safe instead lost would be a very different place next January. We need to vote every incumbent out of power.

that actually makes news? Thousands of people checking in through security and sliding "End the wars" notes into every congressman's mail slot would be something. The cameras might show up for such unusual activity.

No matter how many times we have these things or how many people show up, every single time by the next day not a blessed soul in the country knows about it, except the activists on the email lists and website, i.e., just us. They are blacked out.

ALSO: better yet let's add to our notes we demand a congressional investigation of the FBI raids! Every office has a mail slot, hundreds of congressmen will see these bright and early Monday! Let's leave our signs at their doors (write a note "No es basura, deja por favor" so the cleaners don't throw them out.)

We can do this in squads of a hundred people per floor and make quick work of hitting every congressman's office.

In solidarity....
