This is not about torture. It's about the supreme international crime, war of aggression, war against peace, war of slaughter, pillage, and so on. And if these wars are not stopped, then torture is not going to stop, either; because these wars cause torture that anti-torture activists never mention and this torture is suffered by millions of people. Destroying Iraq, and radiologically and toxically poisoning the country, f.e., causes torture. Murdering people's family members causes torture. Et cetera. These wars kill, destroy, rob, and torture. The torture committed against detainees in prisons is only a more direct, obvious form of torture, but it's not the only kind of extreme and criminal torture.

Anyway, the clip was posted at Youtube in Dec. 2009, but it's never going to become outdated.

"Mike Prysner: Courageous Testimony from an Iraq War Veteran
“The Winter Soldier Hearings" March 2008" (4:29)

by Gary Kohls, Nov. 23rd, 2010

I'll include a short excerpt from Gary Kohls' introduction that precedes a transcript of Mike Prysner's excellent speech; a speech worth putting in historical records, imo.

The psychological toxicity of being silent during moral crises

Dante said: ”The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in time of great moral crises maintain their neutrality.” The courageous Mike Prysner may have received death threats for doing the honorable thing and telling the truth and he was probably advised to stay silent by some of his buddies who have not yet come around to doing the right thing. But Prysner chose to not remain neutral in one of the great moral crises of our time, a crisis that could have otherwise destroyed him. The name of that crisis is war, a euphemism for the organized, state-sponsored, taxpayer-paid-for mass slaughter of humans.

Some of Mike Prysner's speech could be used for anti-war posters and T-shirts. F.e., "The greatest and real enemy is domestic, Washington!", "Our enemies are not foreigners or people in foreign countries!", and so on. And along with such words posters could include pictures of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, others from that administration, Obama, others from his administration, General Tommy Franks, and so on.
